CHRIMBO TAG

Well Folks, I have printed my flight tickets so am just about set now :-).

 I have popped in with my Tag that I made using my new freebie from AURORA WINGS... " Yorkie In A Stocking ", which I got for spending $5 in their shop.
He was just perfect for some friends who are Yorkie crazy :-D

I coloured him using Promarkers and the background is a scrap of Chrimbo paper left over from last year. The gold card doesn't show up well but looks pretty in real life. I added some KindyGlitz on his hat.

MERRY CHRIMBO

Hi All,
I am popping in with some cards I made and most importantly to wish you all a Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2018.
I am off to the UK in a couple of days to spend Chrimbo with my Daughter and Grandsons, so I think it will be a bit colder than here in sunny Greece. :-( 
Luckily I have a house/Dog/|Cats/Chickens  sitter :-D  :-D

So anyway - here are 4 cards I made using the same stamp set. I heat embossed the stamped images in gold and then cut and arranged them in a different way.
I did some delicate colouring on a couple of them using watercolour pencils.

Sorry the gold and glitz doesn't show up very well, but you all know how hard that is to photograph :-)

Well - I am off now for today - I have a couple of other bits to finish.

MERRY FISH-MAS

Hello Peeps,
I hope you are having a great crafty weekend ?

I snagged a pretty cool FREEBIE fish this afternoon drawn by Teresa on the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Blog and I decided to use it for a masculine Christmas card for a fish loving friend.
After colouring the fish I covered it with textured sticky backed plastic to give him some shine - it doesn't photograph at all well though :-(  He is sitting on a pencil sketched fishy tank.
The background paper and overlay are also freebies from PIXEL SCRAPPER.

LEST WE FORGET

Remembrance Sunday is held in the UK and the Commonwealth of Nations as a day to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.

The national ceremony is held in London at the Cenotaph on Whitehall.

Two minutes' silence is held at 11 a.m., before the laying of the wreaths. 

The silence represents the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, when the guns of Europe fell silent.

 This silence is started by Royal Marines buglers sounding Last Post and ended by Royal Marines buglers sounding The Rouse. Gunners of the Royal Horse Artillery fire a gun salute at the end of the silence.

The backing paper came from an old CD of papers. Barbed wire was printed and fussy cut and a couple of poppies were cut also and decoupaged to make them stand out.

Hello Peeps and happy NATIONAL CAT DAY.

I have so enjoyed the last 6 days of the Cat Lovers' Hop and am now totally refueled with Catiness :-)

I have a small card to show today and some funny cat memes I found so here we go.....

This little card was made using a Stampendous kitty stamp coloured with Promarkers.

CAT LOVERS' BLOG HOP 2017 - DAY 6

Welcome to the last Day of the fur-bulous CAT LOVERS' BLOG HOP 2017, as hosted and arranged by the wonderful JANIS over at HER PEACEFUL GARDEN.  I have had such a blast as usual on this great Hop and have enjoyed colouring up some of my own images for a change LoL :-D

This is the 3rd year that Janis has published this event and it seems that every year more of us cat lovers and taking part.

This is also my 3rd year of participation and this year's Prize from me is a brand new cat set that I drew especially for Janis.

Each day of the Hop there will be one of these new kitties to win from this set in a special game Janis has devised. The Game for Day 6 is to share your favourite thing about this CAT LOVERs' HOP.

This card is to celebrate " OXI " Day here in Greece. It is a big celebration and there is a huge parade down in town later this morning. All the shops, banks etc are closed and everyone will be out to celebrate :-D

Here's the History........

Oxi Day (Greek:  «'Οχι» Greek pronunciation: "'Ohi", meaning  "No") is celebrated throughout Greece, Cyprus and the Greek communities around the world on 28 October each year.  It commemorates the rejection by Greek prime minister Ioannis Metaxas of the ultimatum made by Italian dictator Benito Mussolini on 28 October 1940, the Hellenic counterattack against the invading Italian forces at the mountains of Pindus during the Greco-Italian War, and the Greek Resistance during the Axis occupation.

This ultimatum, which was presented to Metaxas by the Italian ambassador to Greece, Emanuele Grazzi (fr), shortly after 03:00 am on 28 October 1940, who had just come from a party in the Italian embassy in Athens, demanded Greece to allow Axis forces to enter Greek territory and occupy certain unspecified "strategic locations" or otherwise face war. It was allegedly answered with a single laconic word: όχι (No!). However, his actual reply was, “Alors, c’est la guerre!” (Then it is war!).

In response to Metaxas's refusal, Italian troops stationed in Albania, then an Italian protectorate, attacked the Greek border at 05:30 am—the beginning of Greece's participation in World War II (see Greco-Italian War and the Battle of Greece).

On the morning of 28 October, the Greek population took to the streets, irrespective of political affiliation, shouting 'oxi'. From 1942, it was celebrated as Oxi Day, first mostly among the members of the resistance and after the war by all the Greeks.

I have used the last image from the kitty set prize. This one is called 'Hello There'.  He is put with one of the views from my  'GREEK VIEWS - World Tour Series' also from IKEsART.

I superimposed a Greek Flag and added the kitty at the front.
