QUOTH THE RAVEN CHALLENGE

Hello Peeps,
Sorry I am a bit late with posting my creation for Quest #30 over at QUOTH THE RAVEN... which is TIC, TAC, POE.
We have a super Grid over on the QTR Blog to inspire you and you know how this works don't you ?... any row of 3 up, down or across :-)
I decided to make a tag this time, but it's a big one.... 10" tall :-D

I used a die cut corner for the top piece with is from Tonic, and I added Stickles and tiny seed beads to the butterflies. Then I put all sorts of lace, ribbons,flowers from my stash. The main image is called  POE SKULL BUST and he is on my Freebie Raven backing paper. Both items are available in my store at IKE'sART.

I sewed the main image on and left the centre part free and made another tag that slides inside this portion. On it I printed 'Nevermore' using my rubber stamp from the Quoth The Raven Set by Smeared Ink.

Congrats also to our Winner from QTR Quest #29  .. 'KEREN' , and our Top 3..  'Paper Whims', 'Crafting Vicky' and 'Calling All Crafters'. I hope you are having a fantastic Saturday and will enjoy a crafty weekend. :-)
Here is my entry as part of QUOTH THE RAVEN DT for the Design Team Throwdown #7 over at SMEARED & SMUDGED. This Post is a bit picture heavy but you'll see why............

All the images are from my new rubber stamp set by Smeared Ink - Quoth The Raven :-)

This is a chuncky ATC - the basic measurements are standard - 2.5" x 3.5" but the depth of these babies is 1.5".  I have split mine into three 1/2" sections and then rejoined them, so it gives me more surfaces to work on. 

I made a little quill pen from part of a feather and sort of Washi tape by stamping on some pale masking tape. The roses are from my stash. All edges distressed with black ink. Papers are from 3 Hearts Designs at the Digital Scrap Cafe.

SMEARED & SMUDGED MAY ATC SWAP

Hello there,
Here are my ATCs for the MAY SWAP over at SMEARED & SMUDGED FORUM. This month's theme is "Black & White + 1 other Colour"..... I have used Brown.

I have used a background from the new 'Spiritus Mortis' Set by itKuPiLLi . Then I coloured  'The Birds' digi from SMEARED INK and superimposed it onto the background. These were then printed out and mounted onto thick card and I then edged them with black distress ink.

The little ravens were made with my new acquisition from SMEARED INK - the QUOTH THE RAVEN set in rubber :-D  (wearing my plastic gloves for this part though LoL !!!)
I inked the Ravens with Stazeon and printed them onto Polyshrink Plastic. When they were dry I heated it with my heat gun. The legs were a bit of a bugger coz they kept curling right up and sticking to the body and when I tried to uncurl them I poked a couple of the bodies with my stick !!!!  Hey - ho.... it is 'hand made' after all so it doesn't have to be perfect does it ?!!!
I printed out Nevermore  and cut the paper into little strips to make banners for my glass top pins :-)

QUOTH THE RAVEN DT THROWDOWN PIECES

Ah, Beloveds !! ... The sisters of darkness at SMEARED & SMUDGED FORUM hath again set forth Challenge #5 to all who toil in Design Teams for other Masters and Mistresses. They doth challenge us to bring forth our most accomplished works and do battle against each other.

Forsooth - such cunning a theme was laid down this time by the Victors of the last Challenge..... Us at QTR.... YaY... and the Challenge hath been dubbed "TOOTH & CLAW".
The Minions of The Master hath risen again to the quest and hath produced fineries that doth astound the eye. For such delights offered by the Mistresses of the Master BLACKDRAGON  and  FIONA... follow their names :-)
For my piece I have made "George" - he certainly has teeth and claws and he has a background of  one of my new digital images which is called 'Creation'. But first, here is George....

THE DARK SIDE CREEPS BACK............

Ha !!  I have lulled you enough with the pretties and wherewithalls of 'CutesieLand' and now my dark half returns. :-D
I have found a new dark and scary Challenge site...................... "SPOOKY AND SCARY"......... and they have their first Challenge up .. 'SKULLS', and it seems they are lovers of Edgar Allan POE.  Every month on 13th they will have a new Challenge going up to release your dark sides and apparently you can make anything you like - so long as it fits the theme obviously !.

I have made a 3D creation using one of my digis called 'Deamon' (available in my Shop),
Raven from the QTR Set and a Bat from the 'Little Bit Batty Set', both by SMEARED INK. The Raven was printed 4 times and then 'fussy cut' and layered up with foam pads to make him 3D. I call this piece 'Hell Cave'.

Here we are at QUOTH THE RAVEN with QUEST 18.. TIC, TAC, ...POE

Our TOP 3 this week too were - tOri,  Mark and Corrine. Such stunning entries and so many of them this time, it was extremely difficult for us to choose !! Our Followers are gradually increasing too, so we are very pleased to be finding all you POE lovers out there and we thank you for coming over to play :-D

So, now onto Quest 18.... Here is your Tic, Tac, POE board..

Choose any 3 boxes in a line and use them to make your creation but don't forget it MUST be related to Edgar Allan POE in such shape/form/connection :-) That's the whole point of our Challenge site eh ??!!

For my creation this month I am converting a little booklet I got with my phone. It started life looking like this;

I shall be decorating it a bit at a time and have completed the front page. I used the CENTRE line DOWN on our grid......... Ribbon/Raven/Flowers. I have background paper from Crafty Chaos, a Raven from SMEARED INK's Quoth The Raven set and across the front I sewed some lace with roses onto a piece of acetate. The Raven was printed 3 times and fussy cut, layered up with silicone to make him 3D.

QUEST 13 AT QUOTH THE RAVEN

Hello Poe Peeps and welcome to Quest 13 over at QUOTH THE RAVEN.
Our Quest this time is inspired by the story 'Some Words With A Mummy' - Poe's dig at the obsession that the Victorians had for Egyptology and stuff. Really very funny !! It was quite a change for him to write thusly :-)
Here's a little quotette :-D ........... .

"Come to me, by all means, my dear good friend, as soon as you receive this. Come and help us to rejoice. At last, by long persevering diplomacy, I have gained the assent of the Directors of the City Museum, to my examination of the Mummy --- you know the one I mean. I have permission to unswathe it and open it, if desirable. A few friends only will be present -- you, of course. The Mummy is now at my house, and we shall begin to unroll it at eleven tonight".

We also have exciting news for you - the very talented SHELL has accepted our invitation to join our DT at Quoth The Raven and she has done the most amazing first project for us. You just have to go over and see :-D It's awesome and creppy/funny at both the same time :-D LoL

Now, this week I had a silly stupid idea put to me by my other half, as I was a bit stressed and short of time and my Mojo was definitely NOT playing the game for this Quest. I laughed when he suggested it and had pictures flashing in my mind straight away, so came down to draw. This is what I ended up with :-D

Also lurking in there is a wonderful little digi Mummy that I bought yesterday from the amazing SPYDER. She's got some fine digis - pop over and see - and she also does freebies on her Blog. 
I used a border and picture of Poe from the Web. I also found a Heiroglyph alphabet but I wouldn't be too sure on it being accurate !! LoL  Any guesses as to what it says ???? 
Whoever gets it first will receive a little Prize from me :-)  Just drop me a quick email. x

SMUDGY ANTICS - TIC TAC TOE MONDAY :-)

Hello Monday Peeps,
This week over at SMUDGY ANTICS our Challenge is Tic Tac Toe (3 in a row).
All you do is pick 3 in a row in any direction and make your creation to incorporate those things. Easy Peasy :-D .

  
                                      

Well, I went straight across the middle and made an ATC. I am trying to make a little collection of these as a present for someone :-)  I used 'Bone Bunny' from SMEARED INK. I printed him 5 times and then fussy cut him and layered up with silicone to make him 3D. For my Background, I used 'Grate' from the Quoth The Raven Set also by Smeared Ink. Since I only have this as a digi and not in rubber, I carefully drew over it with a Versamark ink pen and the sprinkled it with 'Personal Impressions' - Black Super Sparkle embossing powder and heated it with my heat gun. It doesn't show up well in photos but it's lovely stuff. :-) My backing is plain black cardstock.

This week for my project I used one of my Digis I drew especially for this 'Old Man' and I coloured him digitally. I also made the Raven backing paper. Text is from the story by POE and there is a pikkie of the Master himself merged onto the side.

Hello Peeps,
This time over at QUOTH THE RAVEN, our Challenge is themed with POE's tale of Premature Burial. How awful would that be - to wake up and find yourself in your own grave. While the modern usage of the verb "wake" is "become or stay alert" meaning, a "wake" for the dead harks back to the antiquated "watch" or "guard" sense. This is contrary to the urban legend that people at a wake are waiting in case the deceased should "wake up."
Anyways, sometimes people had a little bell rigged up to their toe or hand, so that if they should wake up inside the coffin, they could ring it for assistance.
Here is my offering for this challenge:

The two digital images are from the Build A Graveyard Set by Smeared Ink. I coloured my hand digi in PSE9. The cross  and gravestone images were 'paper pieced' onto a photos of marble and alabaster.

QUOTH THE RAVEN - QUEST 4 ..........."OH,POOR KITTY"

Welcome to Thursday :-D Today we go up with Quest 4 over at QUOTH THE RAVEN which this week is called "Oh, Poor Kitty" and takes it's theme from 'The Black Cat' by Edgar Allan POE. If you don't know the story, you can read it HERE. I have whipped up some new images for this one, which can be found in my Shop. I'm having a bit of a shuffle round over there and now have separate categories, so that hopefully will make things easier. :-)

Here is my offering for this week, using my Wall from 'Poe Wall Cat', but with a new cat I did this week. I printed the wall out 3 times and layered it up to give it depth. He is put against a graveyard background and I added another cat up the tree and a POE image blended into the background. All images were coloured digitally.

QUOTH THE RAVEN - QUEST 3 - ANNABEL LEE

Hello Peeps,
Today over at QUOTH THE RAVEN we have Quest 3 - Annabel Lee. The quest is to make a creation - anything you like - which has reference to Annabel Lee - as in the poem by Edgar Allen POE.
Here is my creation using a new digi I drew especially for this occasion. She is available in my Shop.

I printed her out 4 times and decoupaged her to make her 3D and also added some gauzy stuff in there for a hint of a dress. :-D
My background is a sepulchre pikkie from Lippincotts Magazine 1877, birds and Poe portrait from But I Digress and words from Poe's poem of Annabel Lee.
