STILL PLAYING WITH YELLOW

Hello Sunday Peeps,
Well - it is still raining today.... that's Day 5 non-stop !! I did actually drag the dog out for a walk in his raincoat this morning, just to get some fresh air. !

Since the weather is cruddy, I was still playing with some yellow this morning and made this Tag.

The background was stamped with a sun and a clear stamp with wording, which was sent to me as a gift from a Fabby crafting Friend :-) The package says MY ACRYLIX Close to My Heart  D1196 Floral Elements.  I found these are on eBay and Etsy.
I used two colours of yellow to stamp the word panel 4 times.
Then I used some flowers by Klever Konstruction - which were also from the same Friend. These are printed on like thick acetate and the instructions say to cut them out, heat them up and shape how you want them.  Well - that turned out to be tricky.... they blow away from the heat gun and I was picking them up off the floor and carpet and trying to shape them nicely !!!  Trickly little buggers they are !! LoL

Anyhoo - the image is a Hummingbird from Designs by Ryn at De-STEMPELWINKEL. Not sure if this is available any more as I can't find it in the Shop.
I coloured him with Spectrum Noir markers and then added some KindyGlitz. I made my own little 'wobbler' for him to make him buzz around. It looks soooo cute :-)

In this next photo I tried to flick him and grab the photo but my camera is just too fast so I couldn't get an action shot.... you can see a bit of my finger in there though, trying to make a quick exit hahahahaha :-)

I added some assorted ribbons and schtuff from my stash to finish off.
Things I used:

Thanks for popping in to my rain soaked world. I'll see you later xxxx

WATCH OUT FOR THE WEATHER :-)

Hello Peeps,
Just popping in quickly today with a card for a chum going to Oz.
I mean - I love a bit of sunshine but heat in the 50 + range would do me in !!!

Anyhoo - I have used multiple stamps from DE-STEMPELWINKEL in my creation and part of one of my images called  " Mirror, Mirror " for the crinkly old lady on the inside :-)
My background is pastels and the images were coloured with Promarkers.
I really messed up my mask + stamp of Alice so I had to stamp her out separately and then stick her on :-(

I am busy getting the photos ready for all the wedding card commission I had recently, so I will post those up tomorrow.
Not feeling quite the 'full shilling' today, so I am going to lay down upstairs and vegitate :-(

Thanks for popping in xxxxxxxxxxxxx

SOME MIXED MEDIA

Hellooeee and happy Sunday,
I am definitely in artsy mode today and my first one I would like to show is my MM journal page I started yesterday.
I had read recently someone talking about doing a resist technique with clear embossing and then ironing it off after to create a sort of Batik effect. Well - I tried having a go at that but it didn't quite come out right :-(
My background was stamped with clear embossing and then I went over it with a variety of red colours by Whisper inks.
I also used my SARNTANGLES to stamp directly onto the page.
All the images are De-Stempelwinkel and are NBUS. I also stamped some onto card and cut them out.

I think the inks I used on the bubble wrap printing layer were the wrong type cuz they didn't come off the embossing and just covered it up :-(
I dunno - maybe I'll have another go and just use the water based inks - does anyone know ???

I shall definitely be back later. Thanks for popping in and your lovely comments xxxxx

GETTING IN MY GROOVE

Hello Peeps,
I seem to have lost my Mojo recently... can't get to do anything although my mind is racing with ideas !!!  I did a bit of sewing and then my machine broke down :-(  At least I was able to draw up some new Digital Image requests and they will be rearing their heads shortly :-D
Other than card making for orders, I seem to be definitely 'out of my groove', but maybe I can have more success at the weekend.

I often find that making ATCs gets me up and running, so I did a couple this afternoon.  Both of them are inspired by the sea, although one is humorous and one is a bit scary  :-)

This one was done using an 'Occasions Grumpy' rubber stamp set from SMEARED INK and the background is using the Plate 32 -  'At The Beach' stamp set from De-STEMPELWINKEL.
I coloured the sea with 3 shades of blue ink stamp pads and used just one of the pale ink pads to do the sky. Then I painted the sea part with Glossy Accents.
The Grumpy was coloured with Promarkers and then cut out and mounted on foamies. The fish was given a coat of Stickles and I added some Glossy Accents to his eye. I made a sentiment tab in my graphics programme.

Now this girl is one of my own digital images available at IKEsART and she's called " Mermaid 2 ". I only used the top half of her.  She was coloured with Promarkers.
I made a sheet of that wavy background a while back by blobbing yellow and green paint onto some blue card and pressing over with cling film. Then I made waves on it by scratching and using Stickles. I added some teeny shells that I collected from my local beach :-)

I had fun today and am feeling a wee bit more artsy fartsy now :-D

Thank you for dropping in xxxxx

BRING ME SUNSHINE

Hello Peeps and happy Wednesday,
I am back with another piece in my favourite colour.
This one is an ATC that I am going to put in a collection I'm making for a Pocket Letter to a new crafting Chum :-D  I haven't really landed on a Theme yet but this can be part of the Greek bit cuz that's where I live :-D

I used a piece of sunflower vellum for the back which I partially paper wove with some pale yellow paper, to imitate the squares on the stamped face. I stamped her onto 2 different colours of yellow card and then fussy cut and 3D'd the face with sticky pads.
The flower is from Samflora and I coloured the centre with Copic markers.
The image is part of the "Greco Roman Collage Elements Plate #50 ".

Thanks for stopping by.

BRIGHT SUNSHINY DAY

Good morning happy Peeps,

I have been away from my Bloggy for a while as I had my lovely Daughter and her family over to visit me for my biggy birthday !!! I had such a fabulous time and it was so good to see my little grandsons again. They change so quickly and the boys are growing up fast and much different from when I last saw them in August last year :-D Time flies when you are getting old eh ? !!! LoL

Well - the weather is a bit smeggy today so I decided to play in my craft room. I dragged out inks, texture past and a box of snippets to make something bright and sunny :-D  Yellow is my favourite colour - it always makes me happy, but I don't own any yellow clothes !  Not sure it would be one in my colour palette  since I am a Soft Autumn !! :-D
I decided to make another page in my smaller Journal and this is what I came up with....

I used lots of snippets of yellow card and the negative from a die cut on the background. Then I used another negative die cut and some texture paste for the flowers.
The stamp is called ' Jasmine ' from DE-STEMPELWINKEL and I stamped her with embossing ink and glitter gold embossing powder onto some card that I had dragged different shades of yellow ink pads over.
The Spring poem was from the internet but it doesn't give the author unfortunately.
I drew some edges around using a fineliner pen.
Thanks for popping in today and I will be back later to show you a ticket swap kit that I made for Your Paper Pantry. My kits are currently plodding their way to the US on DonkeyMail.  :-D

I FOUND MY JOURNAL :-)

Helloooo......
Well - would you believe it ??? I was going through some stuff and I looked up on a shelf,  and I found the Journal that I started last year. !!! I had completely forgotten that I had started it :-D
I had just finished a piece of art and was looking for something to mount it on when I found the Journal and would you believe..... what I had made actually fit exactly onto a page ?!!!  Destiny or what ?!
Here it is then........

The main image is from DE-STEMPELWINKEL - Plate 72 Mystic Dreams.
The inks are a 4 way pad from Encore - Ultimate Metallic 'Enchanted Evening' .
Tonic Die - 'Ringlet Rest' Butterfly Die Set.

I made a background first using red, pink, purple ink through the negative part of  some leaves I die cut the other day. Then I sponged over in black with my trusty make up sponge I told you about yesterday. :-)
I wrote in my sentiment and then worked over the background with a dauber and the inks.
I think I am quite pleased with it and I like the way the sentiment looks like it's back-lit :-D

Here's a peek at the other pages I had already done in my Journal and forgotten about !!!!

Well - I have totally psyched myself up now and may well start another page. !! :-D
The thing is...... if you do a single page piece, how do you connect it to the blank page on the other side ??/  Or don't you ?????   Questions, questions !!  :-(

Thanks for popping in and I hope you have a great crafting weekend. xxxxxxxxx

PLAYING WITH BLEACH

Well Hellooooo Peeps,
Happy Friday and I hope you are all looking forward to a bit of crafting time this weekend ??
Today I decided to have a bit of a play with some bleach, rubber stamps and assorted green card.
I started with these:

For my first attempt, I got some really dark green thick card and tried stamping with bleach using the De-Stempelwinkel water droplets stamp (above).
Well - not entirely successful as you lose all the detail but not an unusable end product I think !

I tried again on some lighter weight card with less bleach and then stamped the froggy in black over the top.
Hmmmmmm - not bad but still not exactly what I wanted. :-)

Then I tried stamping the froggy and painting over him with bleach.
Pretty cool effect .... it made him look like a cross between an x-ray and some sort of nuclear fall-out froggy :-D

I used the stencil (above)  with green and black inks and also with the bleach. This was a different piece of green card and the bleach made it go blue, which was very interesting.
Then I cut out some leaves from the same card I did the froggy and painted the bleach through the die cut before removing the leaves. This would have been the parts that are normally embossed. I edged the leaves with black ink.
Like that effect very much so here is my final piece - I made a Tag . :-D

Whilst I was doing this and experimenting with different sponges/daubers etc. to use with the stencil, I came across a lovely pink, circular cosmetic sponge in my box of tricks and wondered what it would be like totally inked and printed and here it is..............................

Now isn't that just totally cool. I can see all sorts of uses for this...... from bubbles to molten lava  !!!!!  Marvelous. :-D

Anyhoo - I had a very interesting afternoon.  I ended up with one black finger and one totally bleached white and also smarmed my sleeve through the bleach as well, so not so good there !!! hahaha
Have now got a lot of things to go wash up, so I will be back again to play later.

Thanks for dropping in. xx

I am hoping that he will count for the De-Stemp Challenge.... I mean, I know he's not an insect but frogs crawl and they can be rather creepy right ????!!! :-D

MESSING WITH STAMPS

Hi again,
This is my first creation to show you today.

I had a bunch of stamps sent me by a friend and one of them is this 'Tea House' one from De-STEMPELWINKEL, which I believe comes from the FS26 ORIENTAL DREAMS plate.
I decided to try and make some little faux ceramic tiles with it as a card topper.
First I stamped it onto card using blue Archival ink and then I mounted the whole thing onto thicker card. When it was dry I cut it up into tile pieces. I inked some of the edges to give a kind of 'grout' shadow and them stuck them all onto some more thin card.
I tried some one step crackle glaze on top of my little tiles, but it didn't do exactly what I thought it was going to. !! Hey-ho.  Not a particularly good crackle effect :-(
Then I mounted them onto some shiny blue card and added some little Chinese-alike style flowers down the side.
I think I overdid the shading a wee bit !!! :-(

I've not added a sentiment as I shall save this for maybe a card for a guy at some point.

I think the image works quite well for this effect but it did cut up the lady a bit too much ! Maybe next time I will adjust the size of the little tiles to make it not so 'cut up' :-D

COPY CATS

Hi- happy Monday Peeps and to those of you having a Bank Holiday.. I hope you have some good weather ?

I saw some beautiful cards today over on the Blog of KT FIT KITTY and I was busting to try her technique out... so off I went.
Well - it all went a bit 'snafu' on me but I carried on and made some cards with my results anyways :-(

Here's what I ended up with.

Now, I don't know whether my watercolour paper was too thick or I was using the wrong sort of inks, but it didn't do what I wanted. I know I had the paper wet enough cuz I had to hang it out on the line to dry off. The puss cats were stamped on but I had to go over this one with a marker as it didn't come out too well.
I used BoHo Chic papers from First Edition and flower buttons from my stash and copied Sketch #357 (inverted) from Sketch Saturday.

I tried this one using Stayzon but I think the watercolour paper is too bumpy for a good image.
Stripey paper is from my snippets box and the twine is part of a recent Prize and is from  STAMPIN' UP .. 'In Colour Accessory Pack'.
I followed Sketch #235 for this one.

This one totally didn't really work because I blobbed it with Tim Holtz alcohol dies - and of course, they don't go with water !!! :-(  I wuite like the effect, so I used it anyway.
The papers are bits from my snippets box and I don't know who they are by. The kitties on these cards are from De-Stempelwinkel - Cherry Pie range. This one uses Sketch #340 (rotated).

Since I semi-failed at this I decided to have a go with bleach on coloured card and I made these.....

The Puss cat is from TLC Creations and the other two are from The Graphics Fairy.
With these, I bleached the red card using a mister containing ordinary household bleach and a little water and then dried it with my heat gun.

I then printed the images onto it - having lined them up, added sentiments and then test printed them first.
I made two little cards and a kitty ATC with a tiny cat brad embellie :-D
I added my own sentiment to the Cow card and she is placed on a backing paper that says 'Hello' in lots of different languages :-)

So - I got lovely inky fingers and had a pretty good time today. :-D

It's no good.... I shall just have to fly over to see KT FIT KITTY for some lessons :-D hee hee

Thanks for dropping in. xxx

A BIT OF SILLINESS :-D

Well - it's me again :-)
I am psyching myself up to create a lengthy project and one that I haven't tried before...... a Pocket Letter..... and not sure what I am going to do yet and not even got a theme !!  ... so - as is my wont - I have created a bit of silliness to kind of take my mind off it and relax it a bit. :-D
I wanted to enter the latest Challenge over at DE-STEMPELWINKEL CHALLENGE #13 but the theme is MEN and I don't have many DeStemp stamps and certainly NO men, so had to think on my feet a bit here and use what I DID have.... a couple of skellies.  :-D
Have you heard the one where the bloke goes into the doctor's surgery? ................................................................................................................................

Well - let's hope I can wing my way through on this Challenge !! Hahahaha We will wait and see :-D

A BIT OF RED & PONDERING

Good morning Peeps,
I was dingling about here yesterday trying to find some inspiration to start a Journal and going through all my digis and stamps and stuff, when I came across this guy. I wondered what was going through his mind, and then browsed the internet for the word 'Pondering', because I thought that was what he was doing.
Anyhoo - I found this really cool poem called "Tense Minutes" by someone called PENCIL SLAYER and I thought it just fit perfectly with the skelly man.

I printed him out and cut round and placed him onto a brick wall stamped background with foamies. The corner is cut with a Marriane Creatable Die.

I guess we all get 'pondering' days in our crafting worlds - and I never did start that Journal LoL :-D

Thanks for dropping in.

THE WAIL OF THE TRUCULENT TEENAGER

Hi Peeps,
Are you chilly where you are ????
It has been mild here for a few days but rumour has it that we will get really chilly (for us anyways) from Monday for about 4 days...... It will be 5 degrees but with wind chill will feel more like -5 !!  I think the weather is doing this out of spite, cuz the friends that I have been house/cat sitting for since November, will be returning home from Australia on Sunday night !! Bwaahahahaha.... bit of a change from 40 degrees huh ??!! LoL

So anyways, here is a little chilly willy winter piece to get me prepared hee hee

I have used  my image of Snow Deer Scene by IKE at STITCHYBEAR STAMPS. for the background and the skeleton image is from De-Stempelwinkel, printed onto card, fussy cut and raised on foam pads. I added a sentiment and a couple of snow flake embellies.
The sentiment is the typical response to asking a teenager to do anything for you that may take longer than 10 nano-seconds !!! hahahah LoL

Well I'm off to house/cat sit now ( 3 days and counting !!! Got to do a mega house clean for them tomorrow).

Bye for now and thanks for dropping in :-D xx
