SARNTANGLE SUNDAY :-D

Today I have been playing  again with my set of LIMITED EDITION - "SARNTANGLES".... created by Sarn over at STAMPING FOR PLEASURE.
These were drawn by Sarn and then turned into a fabulous rubber stamp set and I couldn't wait to get mine.

This first one was was printed onto card with black ink and then coloured with Spectrum Noir pens - CT1, CT3, CT4, GB6, OR2, BG2.

I then mounted it onto a pale yellow die cut doily. The sentiment comes with the Set and was printed onto a thin strip of paper and rolled at the ends.

This 2nd one is an ATC and  was done with ultra fine glitter - a technique I haven't done for yeeeeeeeeeaaars. I used to do a lot of this with Mandalas. Anyhoo - the image was stamped with embossing ink and sprinkled with Black embossing powder and heated. I then used a micro nozzle glue pot to flood the petals with glue and then sprinkled the ultra fine glitter in. 

Colours used, Pink Alpha, Neat Blue, Strato Blue - from  Patsymay, and Blue Sky from Powderz.   When it was dry I cut it out with a die and mounted it onto butterfly blue shiny card.

This one I fancied doing pink - which is an unusual colour for me, but I have a friend who adores pink, so this may well get to be her birthday card :-)

I used 2 different Sarntangles for this one and the middle one was stamped separately onto card, then coloured and mounted with foamies for extra pop.

These are coloured with Spectrum Noir pencils from the 'Primaries' tin.

Sarn makes some absolutely fabulous cards, and she has some gorgeous examples made with her own new stamps. I think I am going to have to copy some of her card designs as I can never get her wonderful effects on my own LoL !! :-D

SCOTTIE BIRTHDAY

Hello Peeps and Happy Sunday,
I am here with a card for a Scottish friend on mine and I always try to find something appropriate to him. This time, I used some information about his name as my background and I found a fabulous little Scottie Dog cutting file - 
SCOTTIE GIFT BAG by MEGAN HARDY available at the Silhouette Store.

I only used one part of the collection - the Dog bit -  and made him a bit bigger, then cut him with my Craft Robo.
I cut one in black and one in white and stuck them on top of each other but slightly off-set. Don't ask me why... I just did !!! 
I made his little coat with some clan tartan, which I hope is the right one for my friend !!
I finished with a sprinkling of hearts which were left over from a previous cutting session :-)

Here is my first creation...........................

I printed this one onto some brown card with black StazOn and then used a tiny brush with some bleach to colour parts of it. I was quite happy with how it went. I also wiped bleach all around the outer edge of the card.

Then it was mounted onto some colour fade card, then brown, orange and the final cream backing with an added slice of ribbon.

The "Imagine" word art comes with the set too along with a couple of others - if you look at the pikkie up above, you can see the whole set.

Sarn makes some absolutely fabulous cards, and she has some gorgeous examples made with her own new stamps. I think I am going to have to copy some of her card designs as I can never get her wonderful effects on my own LoL !! :-D

NORTHERN LIGHTS

Hello Peeps,

I have popped in to show you a set of ATCs that I made for a Swap in January over at YOUR PAPER PANTRY.
There was a cool video that Stephanie did showing us how to make the Northern Lights background with inks and daubers and then stamping trees on there. I had a go........ I didn't have the sorts of inks and stuff she had and only had 1 tree stamp, but I managed to prepare my backgrounds and then feed them into the printer to put some trees on there. These are silhouette digis from BECCY's PLACE.

I didn't then have any daubers either so smurged mine with fingers and make-up sponges.  The hills were masked off before the sky was done and the stars are done with a white nail art pen :-D
Had to wait until now cuz I lost the photos that I took and had to ask Steph to do it :-D

The top centre one I tried on photographic paper but it didn't work out so good - but when I rubbed it I got that coooooool turquoise bit where the ink started to come off !!! :-D

I really enjoyed trying a new technique and can't wait to get my Swaps back from the other Girls. I've seen a couple and they look awesome !! :-D

OSAAT DT PIECE CHALLENGE #230

Hello Sunday Peeps,

Just flying in quick to show you my piece for OSAAT CHALLENGE #230 - Anything Goes With LOVE.
The image I got was Dinosaur with Magnifying Glass by the brilliant KEN BENNER.
I decided to make it into a mirror instead to fit with my sentiment. You can just about see a bit of his face in there :-D

I coloured the Dino using Spectrum Noir pens using the pointillism technique.

Colours: LG4, CG1,CG2,CG3,CG4,JG3,LV1,LV2,IG4,IG3

The background is a digital scrapbook set by Jen Wuthridge called "For the Love of Kraft".

I cut out my dino and mounted him with foam pads and added some hearts. I made a sentiment box in Photodraw. 

I think the Dino really loves himself :-D

THE WAIL OF THE TRUCULENT TEENAGER

Hi Peeps,
Are you chilly where you are ????
It has been mild here for a few days but rumour has it that we will get really chilly (for us anyways) from Monday for about 4 days...... It will be 5 degrees but with wind chill will feel more like -5 !!  I think the weather is doing this out of spite, cuz the friends that I have been house/cat sitting for since November, will be returning home from Australia on Sunday night !! Bwaahahahaha.... bit of a change from 40 degrees huh ??!! LoL

So anyways, here is a little chilly willy winter piece to get me prepared hee hee

I have used  my image of Snow Deer Scene by IKE at STITCHYBEAR STAMPS. for the background and the skeleton image is from De-Stempelwinkel, printed onto card, fussy cut and raised on foam pads. I added a sentiment and a couple of snow flake embellies.
The sentiment is the typical response to asking a teenager to do anything for you that may take longer than 10 nano-seconds !!! hahahah LoL

Well I'm off to house/cat sit now ( 3 days and counting !!! Got to do a mega house clean for them tomorrow).

QUOTH THE RAVEN CHALLENGE #41 - FOR THE LOVE OF POE

Good morning Peeps,
Here I am with my creation for our latest Challenge over at QUOTH THE RAVEN - #41 FOR THE LOVE OF POE.

Seeing as we have the dreaded Valentine's Day creeping up, this Challenge is all about Love. Love for POE, or one of his love poems, or one of the ladies he wrote love stories about... you get the idea. :-D

My piece is an illustration of one of POE's poems.... "FOR ANNIE"  (1849).
"For Annie" was written for Nancy Richmond (whom Poe called Annie) of Lowell, Massachusetts. Richmond was a married woman and Poe developed a strong platonic, though complicated, relationship with her. The poem was first set to be published on April 28, 1849 in the journal Flag of our Union, which Poe said was a "paper for which sheer necessity compels me to write." Fearing its publication there would consign it "to the tomb of the Capulets," he sent it to Nathaniel Parker Willis for publication in the Home Journal on the same day as Flag of Our Union.^[18] The poem talks about an illness from which Richmond helped Poe recover. It speaks about "the fever called 'Living'" that has been conquered, ending his "moaning and groaning" and his "sighing and sobbing." In a letter dated March 23, 1849, Poe sent the poem he wrote to Richmond saying, "I think the lines 'For Annie' (those I now send) much the best I have ever written." Nancy Richmond would officially change her name to Annie after her husband's death in 1873.

Synopsis:
A dying man gives thanks that his "lingering illness ".... life....  is finally over. He is now beyond pain and suffering. But no one, he says, should think pityingly of him. After all, everyone will lie in the same bed he does. Moreover, his death is not final. As his lover, Annie, looks on him and cries because she thinks he is dead, he declares that his heart and his thoughts are more alive than ever, for they are filled with the sight of Annie's love. Though dead, he lives on because of her love.

The poem reverses ordinary ways of thinking about death and life. Life is an illness and death is a cure rather then visa versa. Death is also not just a matter of body. The man's mind and heart are alive even though his body is quite dead. Poe expands on this theme in The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar

I have completed another double page in my altered mobile phone instruction booklet. I now only have one more double page to complete and it's finished :-D

I have used my FREEBIE POE backing paper, a heart die cut, The coloured digi is from IKEsART and is called "POE DEATHBED", and the frame is 'Wiseframe', which may be from Digital Two for Tuesday but I am really not sure. !! Sorry about that. Inside the frame is an excerpt from the poem....

IT'S MACABRE MONDAY AGAIN

Hello Peeps,
It's that time of the week when we whizz over to HAUNTED DESIGN HOUSE .

Yup, it's February again, and you know what that means, right? The entire rest of the world goes ga-ga over love and sweetness and pink and cherubs. Frankly, we in the Dungeon are too twisted and dark to put up with that malarkey, so instead our February challenge is

It's A Love/Hate Thing

This means that you can make it about love or hate, OR use something you love, or something you hate. We're always open to interpretation, but PLEASE nothing sweet and insipid or we'll have to burn it. Seriously. No traditionally "nice" Valentine cards, ok? Make it gothic, make it creepy, make it beautifully twisted and dark and you'll receive so much Minion love that you'll need to get checked out for communicable diseases. Remember, we're now monthly and you can enter up to three macabre creations each month.

Here is my piece for this month...

I have used a cutting file to make the backing - this was a FREEBIE from BIRD's CARDS, and on top of that I have used a couple of elements from Vintage Valentine Dictionary Collage Sheet, which is from SENECA POND CRAFTS.

The main image is called "Detatched" and is by CHEMICAL BOMB. I coloured him with Promarkers.

The background of Love/Hate I made myself. The Fonts I used are ' Times New Romance' and 'Uneasy'.

This piece illustrates my love for vintage stuff and off the wall creepy images and my absolute hate for slushy, mushy, waste of time Valentine schmegg !!!!!
