HAUNTED DESIGN HOUSE HDH172 + DT THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Hello Creepy Peeps,
Here we are again for HDH172 over at HAUNTED DESIGN HOUSE. This time our Theme is Chunky ATCs....
Don't freak out. It's not as intimidating as you may think.
Basically, a chunky ATC consists of a dimensional ATC,
measuring 3.5" x 2.5" x 1.5". Usually it is cut from a plank of
wood, but it can also be a bunch of ATCs glued together to achieve the
1.5" depth. You can also create a hollow box (see template below),
as long as it measures properly.
You can have all kinds of dimension and embellishments, as long as they
are all attached to the original 2.5" x 3.5" x 1.5" block/box.

Now I decided to go completely out on a limb with this one and use Acetate. !!! My measurements are the same but 4 out of the 6 sides are thick acetate and the other 2 sides are cardboard. I used some stripped corrugated card for the back and inked it up with red and black and stamped on some crinkles.
On the front is a ribcage from Smeared Ink's Anatomy 101 Set. Inside, there is a heart :-D  I printed it out 12 times and then fussy cut it into 6 layers each side and sandwiched the sides together so it made it 3D. Then I coloured it and dipped it into my melting pot. The little 'drips' of blood were drippings from my hot glue gun and I coloured them red with Copics. The 'blodd' on the floor below is melted red sealing wax. The heart is suspended on very fine fishing line so that it doesn't show and the heart rotates inside....... it also makes a really cool knocking sound like a heart beat when you move the box a little :-D bwaahahahaha !!!

Here is a cool Template for a Chunky ATC if you want one :-D Just click on it to enlarge and Save.

So - there you have it.  :-)

    2. Okay, so if I join in, that will be three Canadians bombarding in on Ike. Oh my gosh what a blast. Okay, if any of us wins a million dollars we have to promise each other that we'll all go to Greece and visit Ike together--whether she wants us or not!

  3. Stunning realness! I also can't figure out how you made the heart 3D, but let's just say "you're magic", for the sake of argument, shall we? Honored to have you representing HDH this time around. Best of luck!

  12. Can you believe I put that 1st comment together at 3:30 pm and it is 1:30 am and I FINALLY published it. I'm a bit all over the place today. Once again you stretch and grow and create such a masterpiece. I can't get over the fact that heart is made from layers of paper that you've moulded into a 3D object. You have really outdone yourself with this one.

    Hugs,
    Lisa
