COPY CATS

Hi- happy Monday Peeps and to those of you having a Bank Holiday.. I hope you have some good weather ?

I saw some beautiful cards today over on the Blog of KT FIT KITTY and I was busting to try her technique out... so off I went.
Well - it all went a bit 'snafu' on me but I carried on and made some cards with my results anyways :-(

Here's what I ended up with.

Now, I don't know whether my watercolour paper was too thick or I was using the wrong sort of inks, but it didn't do what I wanted. I know I had the paper wet enough cuz I had to hang it out on the line to dry off. The puss cats were stamped on but I had to go over this one with a marker as it didn't come out too well.
I used BoHo Chic papers from First Edition and flower buttons from my stash and copied Sketch #357 (inverted) from Sketch Saturday.

I tried this one using Stayzon but I think the watercolour paper is too bumpy for a good image.
Stripey paper is from my snippets box and the twine is part of a recent Prize and is from  STAMPIN' UP .. 'In Colour Accessory Pack'.
I followed Sketch #235 for this one.

This one totally didn't really work because I blobbed it with Tim Holtz alcohol dies - and of course, they don't go with water !!! :-(  I wuite like the effect, so I used it anyway.
The papers are bits from my snippets box and I don't know who they are by. The kitties on these cards are from De-Stempelwinkel - Cherry Pie range. This one uses Sketch #340 (rotated).

Since I semi-failed at this I decided to have a go with bleach on coloured card and I made these.....

The Puss cat is from TLC Creations and the other two are from The Graphics Fairy.
With these, I bleached the red card using a mister containing ordinary household bleach and a little water and then dried it with my heat gun.

I then printed the images onto it - having lined them up, added sentiments and then test printed them first.
I made two little cards and a kitty ATC with a tiny cat brad embellie :-D
I added my own sentiment to the Cow card and she is placed on a backing paper that says 'Hello' in lots of different languages :-)

So - I got lovely inky fingers and had a pretty good time today. :-D

It's no good.... I shall just have to fly over to see KT FIT KITTY for some lessons :-D hee hee

Thanks for dropping in. xxx

SUNSHINY DAY :D

Hello Peeps and Happy Sunday,

I am now getting back to normal after having my lovely Daughter and her family here for a fortnight. It seems very quiet and a bit lonely now they have all gone back :-(
Surprisingly, I decided to work with my favourite colour today - Yellow - and so am having a bit of a sunshiny day :-D

My first one is using up my snippets of patterned vellum and daisy ribbon with a Freebie image from NEWTON's NOOK DESIGNS - who I only discovered this morning, and I have fallen in love with the Newton Stamp sets, so might just be treating myself pretty soon :-D I used the sketch given for this week's Challenge.

I printed out the image 4 times and coloured it with Spectrum Noir pens and then fussy cut the pieces to decoupage up with foamies. I added a blob of Diamond Glaze to the little Ladybird and then used a black pen to draw the flight line up to the text and past to the bug :-)

My second card features this week's Freebie from  A DAY FOR DAISIES, and I have coloured this one with Promarkers.
I cut it out with my new frame die - Pierced Stacker #4 - from Cheery Lynn Designs.

This card also uses snippets of papers from the plaid collection at DOODLE PANTRY and some oddments of paper for the lacy borders.
I cut out some leaves and made some lemon blossom to add in the corner.
I followed SKETCH #249 from Sketch Saturday for this piece, but I turned it sideways..

I definitely feel a bit jollier having been working with yellow this afternoon :-)
Thank you for dropping in.

IS IT CHRISTMAS YET ??!!!

Here I am with my piece for the Stamp of the Month Challenge at FROM THE HEART STAMPS.
This month we got "Candy Cane for Snowman" and I have coloured him up with Promarkers and cut him out with 'Die'sire' Circle Doily from Crafter's Companion.

I used a Tim Holtz Alterations Snowflake Die to cut the flakes and edged everything with Blue Archival ink.

Stamp Preview by FromTheHeartStamps

I joined all my pieces together to make a Christmas hanging.
It was a bit of a pig to photograph because it kept twizzling around, but I think it shows up ok :-D

I had to lay it down to stop it spinning in the end :-D

Well - it feels chilly here with my air-con switched on. :-) Thanks for stopping by - I hope it's not as hot and sweaty where you are as it is here !! Phew !!!!

ONE STITCH AT A TIME DT CREATION #244 - FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS

Hello Peeps and welcome to Challenge #244 over at ONE STITCH AT A TIME..... 4 LEGGED FRIENDS.

This time I got to work with PANDA BEAR DESIGNS and I snagged myself an image from Stitchy. The Sponsor for this fortnight's  challenge is StitchyBear Digi Outlet with the August image and papers prize pack.   :-)

Here is what I made this time using 'Once Upon A Time Paper Pack' by Panda Bear Designs  and 'Dino' by Stitchy Stamps..........

Once Upon A Time 8.5 by 11 paper pack  Dino

I made one of those pop-up card thingies but cut the top to look like a castle battlement. I covered the card in the yellow and grey 'Brick' papers from Panda Bear's collection.
The I printed out the Dinos in various sizes and 'flipped' a couple too so that they weren't all facing the same way :-)  That is one of the really cool thing about using DIGITAL STAMP IMAGES - you can do all that stuff which you can't do with a rubber stamp !!! :-)
Anyways - I coloured them in with Spectrum Noir pens and then fussy cut them out and stuck them onto acetate strips and placed them on their 'castle' I made a little Home Sweet Home banner and voila !!!
These guys are so cute that I would LUV to have them as my 4 Legged Friends :-D

So there you have it :-) Thank you for popping in and I hope you will come over and play along and see what my Stitchy Angel buddies have made to show you :-D

OSAAT CHALLENGE #243 - SWEET TREATS

This weeks fantastic challenge theme over at ONE STITCH AT A TIME is
#243 Anything Goes with Sweet Treats
So what do we mean by Sweet Treats - well the obvious sweets but also what would you class as a sweet treat in your life?  If your entry is not obvious with the definition then just make sure it is clearly explained on your blog :)

This fortnight I got to play with one of KEN BENNER's lovely cartoons - "Happy Dog with a Dish". I chose this image because he sort of reminds me of my little dog :-D
I coloured him up with Promarkers and then printed him 4 times so that I could decoupage him. I also used a great 'Candy Frame' by Dustin Pike at DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS, and his little Cupcake in his bowl is by ROSEY HEARTS (it was a Freebie). I layered him up with 3D foamies and made a nice little label for my Dog Treat bucket for my little hound. He didn't look so impressed when I showed him - probably because at that moment the bucket was empty !! Hahahaha :-D

Side view showing layers....

Close-up of Ken's fabulous Hound :-) I gave him a little gold disc but it didn't come out well in the photo.

Here is the Prize for this Fortnight's Challenge.

Show us your creations using sweet foods or things which you class as giving you a sweet treat in life, that could be a hug, a glass of wine, shopping etc.

I hope you will come over and play along - you have a Fortnight to enter your creations and I also hope you will come and see the lovely creations my OSAAT TEAMIES have made to inspire you along.
Thanks for dropping in. :-D

The baby is called "Wants Up" from the Babies of The Damned by SMEARED INK.
I coloured him with Copic markers and then cut him out. He is mounted on 3D foamies.

SMUDGEFEST DAY 5

Hello Peeps,
Well I have been beleaguered by problems for the last 2 days.... intermittent Internet, intermittent Power, No water, mega humidity !!! Since I was totally unable to play Day 3 and Day, it has really stuffed me up now :-( I say to myself ... "What next ?"... and I make myself a little inspirational hanging for DAY 5 of SMUDGEFEST

The Challenge:
FIBER FRIDAY

Today your challenge is to incorporate some sort of fiber, string, thread, or yarn into your project. You can use a little or a lot, the choice is yours!

I used a background pad of coconut matting fibre schtuff and then I dragged out my Angelina Fibres. These are Hot Fix and you can either iron them between baking paper or blast them with your hot air gun, like I did :-D  I used 'Calypso Blue'. When I heated the coconut fibres they went great shades of green and yellow too :-D
Then I added " I See You" image from the Zombie Heads Set by SMEARED INK. I coloured her with Copic markers and then cut her out. I used background paper from the 'Zombie Killa' Paper Set and shrunk it down in Photoshop and added my sentiment..... 'Stay Calm and Craft On', coz that is what I have been trying to do. !!
The two pieces are threaded together with thick white rope.

SMUDGEFEST DAY 2 - TAPE

Hi there,
Here I am with my creation for DAY 2 of SMUDGEFEST hosted by SMEARED INK over at SMEARED & SMUDGED.

Here are the rules:

*Each morning from August 3rd through 9th, a new challenge will be posted. It will contain that day's theme and prize information.

*To participate, you must make a project that fits the theme and add it to that day's post using Inlinkz. The link to add your entry will be located at the bottom of each post. Your project must be linked by midnight of the same day. Your link must go straight to the post on your blog containing your project, not your blog home page.

*Your project can be anything (card, scrapbook page, altered or 3-d item, etc) as long as it is handmade and stamped somewhere with either a rubber or digital stamp. All digital projects are allowed if it fits the theme. Feel free to think outside the box and have fun with your project! We are all about looking at things differently and look forward to the variety of projects we are sure to see.

*You must use AT LEAST 1 Smeared Ink image on your project to qualify for the daily prize drawing. You are allowed to use anything else that you like. If you just want to play along and aren't worried about qualifying for the prize, you do not have to include a Smeared Ink image.

*The daily winner will be chosen by random number and revealed later the next day in a separate post (not the daily theme post).

The Challenge:
TAPE TUESDAY
Whether it's washi, masking, duct, or scotch, we're challenging you to use some sort of tape in your project today!

Here is what I have made for today......... a Door Hanger...

I have used one of the Zombie head shots called "DROOL" and a rubber stamp sentiment "Artist At Play" which is from the Inky Dreams set.
I have coloured him up with Promarkers 4 times and then fussy cut sections of him to make him spookily 3D.
My background was a piece of corrugated cardboard and I randomly tore some of the facing off and then inked with Distress Inks in Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint. I used a strip of Dry Wall Tape as a stencil for part of it (down on the right-hand side_ and then stuck a long strip of it onto the card.
Then I added my 3D guy. I also used some Masking Tape (since I don't have any Washi) and stamped my Artist sentiment and another piece I wrote Keep Out with a red fine line marker. Attached some jolly green string and Voila !!!
I think he's scary enough to keep anybody away Hahahaha :-D

GUEST DESIGNER SPOT FOR ME - YAY !!

Me again Peeps,
I was honoured to be asked to do a GUEST DESIGNER spot over at NOT JUST CARDS  for Challenge #23 and I jumped at the chance. It's lovely to be asked to go visit somewhere new.
One of their Sponsors for the Challenge is DELIGHTFUL DIGIS and I got to choose any image I like. I picked one called "Smudge Cat" from the 'Oh, Sew Sweet' Range. What a delightful little chap he is too :-D
Since he is a sewing cat, I decided to make my project using material and stitching.  I made a wall hanging about 8" x 8".

I went through my material snippets box and gathered up some toning pieces and cut them with pinking sheers. Then I just roughly zig-zag stitched them together. I coloured my SMUDGE CAT with Promarkers and gave him some faux stitching, then I stuck him onto the fabric. I cut a felt heart and lettering for my sentiment and attached it to a piece of multi colour canvas with some kitty Brads. Then I cut a piece of string to hang it up with and just left the rustic knotted ends. :-)
So there he is :-)  I coloured him up to look like one of my 'Gingers'  ( I have 5 Gingers LoL)  !! :-D

Thank you for dropping in and I hope you will find time to whizz over to NOT JUST CARDS and have a looksee + play along :-D  xxxx
