See Ya xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks Ike!! I am what in Southern NJ is considered a "Piney" (kind of like a hill billy but not) A Old time piney will tell you ONLY if you were born in the Pine Barrens can you call yourself one. the semi-old timers say if you are a transplant from another area, after 10 years you can call yourself a "Stumpjumper" after 20 years then you can refer to yourself as a piney.
ReplyDelete(like Hiney) But there are a couple of requirements...
1. you have to hunt and or fish (we fish and crab)
2. have trees on your property (as in the newer developments were totally cleared like a desert, so they do not count...old timers say you have to live in the woods, which we do (5 acres). so either way it counts.
3. you have to HATE "Bennies" or "Shoobies"...aka tourists! we don't hate, but we do tease and count the days til labor day, and they go!!! Hill billies are a step below Rednecks, and Pineys are close to rednecks LOL, as in I have a BS in Diagnostic Imaging, and hubs did graduate HS, so we are not "dumb hill billies" LOL. Though our home needs "A lick of work" LMAO!!!
there is some American info for you :)
hugs,
Susan (Sue)
PS...I love Cats and Penguins :)
Castles, medieval women and knights
on the creepy side: vampires, skeletons, ghosts and werewolves...and the oddities like Big Foot, the lock Ness monster etc.
hope that gives you some inspiration :)
I had to giggle at Susan's comment since I was born & raised in an Amish area in Ohio. I love this image and your other building since I love scenic stamping. Even if it's not totally realistic, I still love it all. How about more pieces to go with your buildings? Maybe things like groves of trees, creeks (not streams, remember I'm from a secluded area), accesory buildings & barns, chopping wood scene, fishing scene, fish, wildlife and on and on! I also would love to see some Christmas and Halloween/fall images since we have to think months ahead when we make cards for the troops through Operation Write Home. I'm also a big medallion (mandala) freak. Anything in that genre would also be great! I'm always needing more masculine images, so anything in that area would also be a plus! Thanks again for your freebies and inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHey, this is great. Love anything that is a scene so that I don't have to think so much. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, great little shack
ReplyDeleteDear Sue, I am always amazed at your level of detail - like the knots in the plank walls. As befitting your buildings i think you could add fences, trees and sky to your repertoire, i love moonlight in the country. I'd like the chance to build scenes with your buildings. Greetings from Australia.
ReplyDeleteWhen did you start doing freebies? And how come I didn't know? :P Thank you thank you thank you! :D

ReplyDeleteUp north in Michigan that looks like a hunting camp. Nothing hillbilly about it. Love nature scene. Would love to see a Bearded Collie. You are seeing more of them in the commercial.Think of the Shaggy dog that remade recently. Just a beardie lover.
ReplyDeleteI would stay in your cabin. I love the detail in the boards. Thank you for sharing your 'Freebie Friday' on Sunday because I'm getting it on Thursday. Now who's late?
ReplyDeleteIke this cabin is wonderful. Don't know how "hillbillie" it is as I have always lived in the city...but I love it just the same. lol. I love all scenic types of images, they have to be my all time favorite things to work with.
