POE APPRECIATION DAY BLOG HOP January 19-23, 2018 - DAY 5

Alas and alack !! Fie, with sadness we doth find ourselves at ye brink of  ye abyss with ye finale day of the POE APPRECIATION DAY BLOG HOP as 'twas hosted by ye fair goddess of darkness -  Leigh, of LEIGH SNAITH-BRUNTON DESIGNS.

With infinite sorrow, and much wailing, I gift thee my humble offerings on this saddest of days....

Aforefront - a 3D contruction which doth show ye awful plight of ye poer Black Cat.
His master doth poketh out his eye and then murdur his wife and bricketh her within a dark and desolate chamber in ye olde basement of his dwelling. Unbeknownst to him, he hath entombed ye aforesaid feline also within ye tomb. However, it doth wreak it's revenge.......
Should thee hath courage to readeth such tale, then clicketh thee HENCE.

Image: " POE CAT "  by IKEsART, multiple layers of 3D fussy cutting.
Bricks and  frame made from cardboard pieces, coloured and covered with sand . Whiskers made with fishing line. :-)

A mixed media  Fat Book Swap page using rubber stamps from SMEARED INK and pieces from my 'bits' box.

A mobile made using ' Quoth The Raven' rubber stamp set by SMEARED INK plus additional Raven images.

and lastly - 'tis a piece with some humor lest thou leaveth me having succumbed to faintness of heart and mind :-)

Should thou wishest to imbibe thy mind with ye myriad workings of The Master then hie thee HENCE.

I thank thee with much gratitude and tugging of forelock for thine divine presence here at my humble abode and am forever enriched by thy kind words of succour.

Dost thou not craveth further optical delights ????     Then I beggeth thee to Hop-eth forthwith - there to view ye other visions. :-D

A CRAFTING WEEKEND

Hi everyone - I don't know about you but I am looking forward to a crafting weekend now that my routine is basically back to normal :-)

I was going through my Blog Reading List this morning whilst having my coffee and I came across the Blog Hop over at SCRAPS BY GRACIE, and I saw a lovely Sketch there that they were all following. I got this crazy, hairbrained idea when I read that she said this................

"  How can you use a sketch other than copying it exactly?
How about changing it up by using patterned paper for the background?
Or changing the flowers to monsters or animals or another diecut or stamp? "

Well, you know that I like to do dark/scary stuff (on occasion hahaha), so I decided to follow my idea.

Over the last couple of weeks I have been out trying to catch stray, female cats in my area to get them 'fixed' to try and keep down a kitten explosion. !

It is a different culture here where I live and cats are not 'pets'. They are tolerated because they keep down vermin, but are not cared for.
In about 2 months there will be an increase in the population and this will happen again in August. Last year we had 3 lots of kitten births (again in November) because the weather stayed mild and the Queens came into heat again. Then - at least once a year - there are anonymous poisoning sessions and most of the cats 'disappear'.
Now, I don't know if you knew but I have 23 cats who live in and around my house and they always seem to be telling their friends how nice it is. I managed to get 3 'girls' from around my land and the others have been from in my local area around the streets and stuff where I walk my dog. It's been a great game of 'Snatch & Grab' and so far without permanent injury, although the 'Girls' are seriously NOT impressed with me at the time . LoL
Anyhoo - here is my little creation following the Sketch.

The image is one of my own digis called POE Cat although I have given him back his other eye :-D      He can be found in my shop, IKEsART :   HERE
The background paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles and I have added some blood spatter, bones and paws to follow the sketch.

Many thanks to my wonderful Vet - Vasso Lamba who does the 'fixing'. Obviously there can be no 'appointment' system when catching strays but she always manages to squeeze them into her busy day for me :-D  xxxx

Thanks for coming in this morning and I shall be back later with some photos of recent commissions. xxxx

SCARY TIME

Ooooooh - WATCH OUT...... it's scary time Folks. !!!!!!
I've been busting to Blog this one but I had to wait until my Swap partner received it so as not to spoil the surprise.
 photo swapshopATCbutton_zpse0c40a93.jpg
This is a FAT PAGE  (6" x 6") that I made for  a Swap over at SMEARED & SMUDGED FORUM.

I made a thick card base and then stuck some kitchen towel on it and flicked some inks on there whilst it was wet. You have to leave 1/2" of free space at the side so that your recipient can put holes in to bind it :-D

Then I used my SMEARED INK - QUOTH THE RAVEN rubber stamp set to stamp on the page and to do my cut out images. The kitty stamps are all from a new set of tiny cat stamps I got called "Pussy Cat". I cut out some paws and made tiny bunting with hand drawn stitching.
On the other side is one of my images "POE CAT" which I coloured up and put with a small excerpt from the poem 'The Black Cat' by Edgar Allan POE.
You can read it all HERE. The Font I used is called 'Blood'.

Thank you for dropping by for a scare. :-D

MACABRE MONDAY HDH166 - STEPHEN KING NIGHTMARE

Well good morning Peeps and welcome to Macabre Monday a la HAUNTED DESIGN HOUSE.
This Challenge is all about creations inspired by the works of Stephen King...... love him, read them all, absolutely fabbo, so I simply had to play along with this one :-D

For my creation I decided upon "PET CEMETERY" and have used my own digi 'POE CAT' (available in my Shop). I also added a small pikkie of the man himself in the corner. Then I cut a grave scene fence with Silhouette and put that in front. It's a little hard to see coz everything's black, but it is there. The quote is from the advert for the book :-)

Please drop by HAUNTED DESIGN HOUSE.... if you dare..... and see the gorgeous creations the other Minions have to scare you with - hahahahaha !!!

DT THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Well hello and happy Monday Peeps,
I am here to tell you about the 2nd DT THROWDOWN CHALLENGE over at SMEARED & SMUDGED FORUM.
Challenge #1 was won by the hugely talented DT over at Haunted Design House, so they got to throw down the next Challenge Theme.... FAUX FINISHES.

For my entry with my DT from QUOTH THE RAVEN, I have used one of my own digis called "POE CAT". It was inspired by his story  'The Black Cat' - where the guy bumps off his wife and bricked her up in the wall !!!  If you want to read the full story go HERE.

I coloured the cat digitally and then printed him 10 times, fussy cut and feather cut him and then layered up with silicone for a 3D image. I used Glossy Accents on his eye and cut up some bristles from a broom to make whiskers.
My bricks were made from thick cardboard then painted with acrylics mixed with sawdust to give them texture.
Click on pic to enlarge if you dare !!! :-D

Here's a side view before I added the whiskers :-)

Now - if you go over to QUOTH THE RAVEN you can see what the other Minions of The Master have produced for our Team effort.... prepare to be totally gobsmacked !!!!
