A TOUCH OF T REX- ITIS

 Hello Peeps,

I know I haven't been around here much recently but I had to come tell you of a funny story on my road to fighting cancer.

I don't know if you are aware, but having so much chemo absolutely trashes your veins, making it more difficult every time you go for them to get a Cannula in. It was recently decided that I would be fitted with a permanent "Port" - which is a device fitted in your chest just below your collar bone during a small operation. I must say, I was delighted.

I have been suffering lately from an arthritic or something attack in my left should joint, which means I can only lift my arm at the elbow and makes dressing and reaching etc. very difficult. So, I merrily enter the operating room and he says " Which side do you want it on ?".

Now, with hindsight, my brain should have said " Put it on the left because your arm is already skanky", but Noooooo....... " I'll have it on the right please " I gaily reply.

When I awoke I realised how very painful this "little" operation was and that now my right arm is also limited to only being moved at the elbow..... Hahahahahaha  :-D

Hence - until this heals in a few days, I am constantly wearing my pyjamas and my arms are about as puny and useful as those of a T Rex........ T Rex-itis   :-D :-D :-D

  2. The cannulas are life savers but I can understand how in the surroundings you would say the opposite. Sending love and hugs

    1. I know they are good but my veins are so weak and bad I cannot support them and have to keep having it moved about to a different vein during 1 treatment !!!
