Hopefully you have arrived here via Kozmic KAPREE, but if not - don't worry -the full list is below :-)
Our theme this month is "Anything Goes" and I have made my first ever Mixed Media piece. Being as it was my first real effort, I was reluctant to use one of my precious 3 canvases so I went with really thick cardboard packaging instead. That meant I could bin it easily if it all went drastically wrong !! hahaha LoL. I gave you a sneaky peek at one corner on WOYWW 219 last week :-)
My piece is 10" x 14" and here it is .....................
The main image is the Raven from the Quoth The Raven Set by SMEARED INK. Being a digi image, I enlarged him to 6" tall and then printed him out 7 times. I then fussy cut him into layers and 'feather cut' the edges. All the pieces were then mounted up in sequence to create a 3D image using foam pads.
My background is made up of die cut pieces, lace, kitchen paper, nylon netting, string, texture paste and Gesso. I spritzed with some inks and Perfect Pearls mists. The flowers were cut with my Craft Robo from book pages and then distressed and spritzed too. Feathers were kindly donated by my chickens :-D
So - there you have it. I hope you have enjoyed looking and now you are ready to go off to the Lovely LISA to see what she has in store for you :-) I have added the complete Blog Hop Roll below here in case you get lost. :-D

Another incredible creation my friend. Have you ever done paper tole? Because that is sort of what you are doing with the raven by cutting and shaping and feathering the different pieces. Just a lovely job for your first mixed media piece. However it is funny because I thought a lot of your work was mixed media. Hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteOh and I am happy you thanked your lovely chickens for their kind contribution to the piece.
Hi Ike,
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a lot of work has gone into this. The raven looks amazing & I love the textured background. The flowers are fabulous too. Thanks for joining us at Divas By Design this week.
