I was browsing and I found a new Blog called 'The Dutch Canaries' (Het Canary Blog)...a group who will be making Challenges with Saturated Canary Images :-)
At the moment they are giving one away if you go over and have a look :-)
Well, I snagged her, and the Challenge is to colour her in the costume of your choice, so mine is in Greek National Costume (Well sort of... considering she's a Dutch girl, but you get the idea) LoL

Happy Macabre Monday and welcome to Challenge HDH148 at HAUNTED DESIGN HOUSE .... BAD MOON RISING.
I have made a selection of ATCs, using a Free digi image of a 'Flapper' I got the other day. (I cannot seem to find out where I got it from now so I apologise). I gave her some different eyes and altered her mouth so she's got fangs and a little blood too :-D
I have used backing papers from Crafty Chaos, card from my stash, and a selection of distress inks and other goodies.

SMUDGY ANTICS - EVIL ALICE

Hello and Happy Monday and welcome to this week's Challenge over at SMUDGY ANTICS.

This week's challenge theme is:

"EVIL ALICE".

It seems Alice is huge these days!  Alice is everywhere!  She has video games, challenge blogs, tag and ATC swaps and who knows what else...all devoted to her and Wonderland!  That girl gets tons of attention!  We expect to see lots of entries this week.  Of course, being Smudgy Antics, we like things that are on the dark or edgy side of the art world.  Smeared Ink has made their own collection of AIW and let me tell you, Alice is all grown-up now!  You can find these jaw-dropping creations in the shop now.  I provided the link for the entire set, but these can be purchased as singles as well.  Trust me, you will want them all!  They are Hot!

We at Smudgy Antics challenge you to make the most mind-blowing AIW piece you can.  Make it evil, make it twisted, or make it seductive.  All of that will work.  Just stay away from the safe and cute stuff.  Save that for the other challenge blogs and tap into your dark side.  We dare you!

For my offering this week I used one of the new images called 'Rabbit'. Click Pic to enlarge...

I used the backing card from a stencil set I bought coz I like the clock, two cut outs from my New Xcut - one with Rabbit on it. I coloured it using Copics, pencils and baby oil :-) Thanks for the idea Helen xx

My eyes are from a Dilly Beans image and I have set them into flowers cut with a die.

PRETTY, PRETTY SESSION

It's me again today... phew !!
I have had such a lovely day beetling about in my nice tidy craft room, and I've just been non-stop making things. 
I was sorting through my computer and I came across a folder of images from ANJI's ANTICS. She does song lyrics too on her Blog. :-) I've had this one for a while... she's called "SteamRose" so I decided to colour her up with Copics and put her on a tag. I used my latest Xcut die, some new lace I bought locally, and some little butterflies that I die-cut from pink card and edged in pink ink. The backing of the tag was stamped with a lovely little Unity Stamp - "A Little Bit of Burlap" that I won as a prize. These are great stamps coz they come ready mounted on cling foam, so you just slap it straight on your acrylic block.... that means I don't have to touch it much (since I'm allergic) LoL    I stamped with embossing ink and then sprinkled kaleidoscope embossing powder and heat embossed. Then I rubbed over it with my pink ink stamp.

AUGUST RUDOLPH DAY

Happy Saturday Everyone,
I have made another creation for entry into Sarn's RUDOLPH DAY challenge over at STAMPING FOR PLEASURE. The aim is to make a stock of Christmas goodies every month on 25th. :-) I have made an ATC using a freebie background paper and my "Hot Santa" image available in my SHOP. I am really into ATCs at the moment... something I have avaoided for a long time and I really don't know why, coz now I'm hooked LoL

Sorry the pic quality is not so good - I am still struggling with my little camera which is dying on it's feet. Got a new one coming :-)

SORT OF JOURNAL THINGY :-)

Me again,
I was colouring up a new digi I got FREE from SMEARED & SMUDGED FORUM for entering one of their monthly Challenges.... it's called 'Imagination', from Smeared Ink, and I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do with it. I'd always fancied starting some sort of Journal type thing that I see people making. I found the instruction book for my little camera that has just died on me, and it seemed a shame to just throw it away. I have decided to use it for doing other stuff that's not cards etc. and just for things that pop into my mine etc, so I suppose that's a sort of Journal !! :-) I glued 2 of it's flimsy pages together and added some plain white paper to make it stiff, then mounted my coloured image and some embossed card, with a sentiment I got from Ginger's House which I thought was very suitable for me LoL.......... Et Voila !!

I haven't decorated the front yet or the inside first page, but here's what I did with my freebie image (coloured with Copics).....   Click Pic to enlarge...........

We are working to a Theme this time - Edgar Allan POE.
I have used a Raven from SMEARED INK's POE set and have fussy cut him out 8 times. I also did this with a flipped image so that makes 16 layers in all. I stuck both halves together and then dipped him in my melting pot with UTEE. I then attached him to an earring fitting, added feathers, beads, chains and black thin ribbon and voila ! A Poe earring. He is a little bit heavy but I am prepared to suffer by the end of an evening -  where I will only wear one such earring when I 'Goth-up' :-) 

ACK !! I've just noticed that somewhere along the way I've managed to break off his foot !!!!!!  Dang ! Haven't a clue where it is now, so - HeyHo  :-(

WICKED WEDNESDAY

Hello mid-week Peeps,
I am having a go at Wicked Wednesday this week, which is an ATC Challenge Blog,  and I am really getting into these little suckers over the last coupla' weeks :-D They are such fun and I like working on a small scale.
Anyhow - Wicked Wednesday this week are doing WHOOO LOVES OWLS and they are sponsored by SMEARED INK, so I just had to join in this one with Calamity, a kinda' cutesy owl from them.

I used a beige speckled basecard and I inked the edges in Tim Holt distress ink - Vintage Photo. Then I put leaf images for the background - done twice with the top layer more faded that the first. Then I tore the edges and inked up again with Tim Holz distress inks in Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo.
Calamity was paper pieced with owl feather image and the coloured up with Promarkers. He was then multi-printed and fussy cut, layered up with silicone to 5 layers to make him 3D. I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist adding some googly eyes, coz they go at such quirky angles some times, and it make me laugh :-) !!. Words done in Photodraw.

Happy Monday,

This week we want you to turn nursery rhymes
 into something scary or creepy.  

The more twisted, the better!  Make the little hairs on the back of our necks stand on end.  Make a project that is nightmare worthy.  Please source the nursery rhyme you are using or better yet, write out the rhyme in your blog post for those that may not be familiar with nursery rhymes.

Most importantly, have fun!

Be sure to read and follow the challenge rules posted on the left side bar to qualify for the random prize drawing and the coveted "Top Three" badge.

So, here I am with my Design Team piece for SMUDGY ANTICS.
Our theme this week is NURSERY RHYMES and there are some glorious new images out at SMEARED INK.  I have chosen to use 'Old King Cole' and I have made this tag. The image was coloured digitally, cut out twice and layered up with silicone, then given a coat of gloss. The background is the whole verse, I found on the Web and it is layered onto  some sheet music for that song on the piano. I put all that lot onto a 6 x 3 tag. Bit of green ribbon from my stash.

HDH 147 WHO ARE YOU CALLIN' A SUCCUBUS ?

Hello and welcome to another Macabre Monday with HAUNTED DESIGN HOUSE.

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece

that depicts a Succubus in one form or another.
Just what is a Succubus you may ask?
In folklore traced back to medieval legend, a succubus (plural succubi) is a female demon or supernatural being appearing in dreams, who takes the form of a human woman in order to seduce men, usually through sexual intercourse. The male counterpart is the incubus. Religious traditions hold that repeated intercourse with a succubus may result in the deterioration of health or even death.
In modern fictional representations, a succubus may or may not appear in dreams and is often depicted as a highly attractive seductress or enchantress; whereas, in the past, succubi were generally depicted as frightening and demonic.

For my project this week, I chose 'DEVASTASIA'  - I thought she looked like a right little Minx, so I put her with some body parts (all male of course LoL) from the Anatomy 101 Set from Smeared Ink.

I coloured her up and the body bits and then cut them out and stuck them onto a background graveyard from Tempus Fugit. Doesn't she just look the picture of innocence ??? Bwaahahahahaha !

PEACOCK

Hi there,
I have been feeling really productive today and have got loads done for my forthcoming DT commitments, and also been playing around colouring some new images.
The other day I found a fabulous Peacock freebie over at Digital Two For Tuesday and I just had to colour it up this evening and make a little card for a friend. I hadn't got any proper Peacock feathers (it's not that there aren't any coz there's 2 houses up the mountain that keep Peacocks) but anyways, it's unlucky to bring the feathers indoors so I wouldn't be using them anyhoo. !! I made do with some paper ones.  :-D
Backed onto peacock blue card and a few gems added and Voila !

I have produced a piece for the JUNK FUNK Challenge over at SMEARED & SMUDGED FORUM. 
HOW IT WORKS: Junk Funk will focus on repurposing or recycling items that can be easily found in most homes. Each month we will pick a different item and you can make whatever you want with it, as long as it is stamped somewhere! Share your pictures here when you are done, or share a link to your blog where your project is posted and titled "Smeared and Smudged Junk Funk Challenge".
This month - Make a project that incorporates the use of FEATHERS

Now - I have another piece - a Proper piece for this Challenge... coz there is a Theme this month..... Edgar Allan POE. I have made something special that is POE related, and it is my sensible entry to this Challenge BUT, I am saving it to display it on Thursday 23rd August 2012, coz that is the SMEARED & SMUDGED MEMBERS' BLOG HOP DAY, so I do hope you will come along and have a look to see what we've all been up to :-D 

I decided to make a joke project as this just popped into my head and I had to do it. LoL.
I have used THURSTON and LUCIFER from the Gargoyle Set from SMEARED INK.

The images have been fussy cut and then layered up with silicone in 3 layers. I glossed them with Glaze too so they look really cool close up :-)

THIS MONTH'S PRIZE:

This month we're doing things a little different. All challenge entries for the month of August will be entered into a drawing to win this awesome Edgar Allan Poe Hoodie (Size Large)! Welcome to this week's Challenge over at SMUDGY ANTICS.... DRAGON TALES.
Now, we all had some awesome NEW Smeared Ink dragon images to play with this week. They are part of the new releases coming out shortly.

I coloured him with water colours, PSE9 and Copics and I have set him on a picture of a cave, courtesy of the Web. I added some yummy lace down the side that I got from my local store the other day. She has a haberdashery that is like Aladdin's Cave and has some awesome stuff :-) This is a 5" x 5" page (I shall move the lace when I make the page fixings and then put it back)  and I am going to make a little book including it, but I'm not sure what else is going to go with him yet.... maybe some more Smeared Ink dragons eh ?!!

SMUDGEFEST DAY 7 - VERSION 2

Here is my SMUDGEFEST DAY 7 ... Version 2.... 'Not really desperate to win the Baggie (much)' creation..............Do ya' think they will be persuaded ???? Bwaahahahahaha

It has been a real blast at SMUDGEFEST  2012 with SMUDGY ANTICS, and we have used some glorious images by SMEARED INK throughout this week. This is one of the Grumpies and are a 'must have' :-)
