Today over at SMUDGY ANTICS our theme is EGGS... well, Easter is creeping up although, we are a week later here in Greece, where it is on 15th. Our Challenge this week was to decorate an egg. I had some of those polystyrene ones - about the same size as a large chicken egg. I painted my egg black to start. I made some flowers out of black lining material, which I put together in layers using a jewel brad and then blasted them with my heat gun to make them melty + curly (The brads didn't like it much... snort !!!) Anyways, I was quite pleased with the result. I printed out loads of little bats from the Smeared Ink 'Little Bit Batty' set and set them back to back, sandwiching some copper wire between, and glued them with hot glue. I poked them randomly into my egg. Then I made a sort of feather/bead/ribbon/chain thingy for the bottom.. and Voila !!! It was very hard to photograph properly because of the flowers being all black.
I do hope you will pop over at see the gorgeous creations my fellow Smudgy Sistahs have made for you and that you will play along with us this week. You can decorate an egg, or something egg shaped or have eggs on your projects :-D xxx

ReplyDeleteIke,
ReplyDeleteAwesomeness! Very creative, poking the bats out and hanging the feather! Love your egg! I never thought of using "Lining" however I use very sheer pieces of fabrics to make those types of flowers. But for an all black effect this is great! Thank you for playing w/ us at Paper Creations Ink "Natural Materials" Challenge! Stay crafty!
