KITTY CHRISTMAS

Hi Peeps,

I am so pleased with my latest set of cutting dies ............  they make KITTIES :-D ......  and I am going cat crazy at this end cutting them out in different colours :-)
The cool thing is - depending on which angle to stick on the heads or tails and how far apart to stick the eyes, you can give them all sorts of different character and emotions :-D

Here's a little guy that I have done to look like one of my many kitties, and he is feeling a bit like Christmas.

I have embossed the background with a Cuttlebug Christmas Tree folder and then used the de-bossed side. I added a strip of shiny red tape and a Christmas doodad and there he is :-D

This fabulous create-a-kitty die set is from the Marianne Designs "Collectables " range (COL1353) .

Don't forget about the brand new CAT LOVER'S CHALLENGE coming to a screen near you on 1st DECEMBER 2015. You can find some info and join up as a Follower HERE. Keep your eyes open for a spanking new FREEBIE about to arrive there ready for the first Challenge :-D xxxx

Thanks for dropping in :-)

Hmmmm - DOMINO ART ?!!

I'm in again this afternoon with my first ever attempt at DOMINO ART and I must admit that I found it quite intimidating. !!
A lovely friend gave me some dominoes a while back so I thought I would have a go at the Challenge.

I started by covering the domino with some shiny Christmasy green Washi Tape, that was set to me by a crafting buddy :-D
Then I added a red ribbon with a merry Christmas peel off. The little snowflakes are from Bemiss-Jason (in craft shops) and are called Iridescent Snow. They are shiny white on one side and iridescent on the other, so I switched them around a bit.

In the centre I added a Cricut Santa + Reindeers and covered it with Stickles and I put two more snowflakes in the centre. I even gave Rudolph at the front a teeny red nose :-D

I definitely found this a bit daunting, but if you really want to see an expert at altering Dominos then pop over and visit Leigh S-B, Sharpie Domino Queen on her blog HERE.

FAERY INK TWINS

Hi Peeps,
I hope you are having a great crafting weekend so far :-)
This is my card using a brand new image from FAERY INK which is called " Twins" and they had a special promotion with a discount on the image and a set of clothes digis to dress them up in. I just couldn't resist these little cuties.

I coloured my twins using Spectrum Noir pens and then I paper pieced their clothes using  Pink & Blue Snow papers from MEINLILA PARK.
I cut the twins out and then placed them on a background, which came from a card kit by Crafty Gals at Paper Creator.

Challenges I am entering:

Faery Ink Facebook Challenge - Baby Dress Up   *** WINNER ***
The Alphabet Challenge - T for Tis The Season  AND Twins of course :-)

JUNO

Hello and happy Thursday,

I have managed to squeeze in a bit of crafting time today before I get the sewing machine out tomorrow to make some cushion covers and stuff. !!
This week is just getting away from me and I am not sure where it's gone !

I decided to make a piece for the latest Challenge over at DeStempelwinkel and the theme this time is ' Shades of Brown '.

I have made a little book cover using some very thick cardboard and then I covered it with kitchen paper coated with gesso and squwidged it about a bit for some texture.
When it was dry, I painted it with Distress Inks to get some nice rich colour.
Then I printed some peacock feathers onto tissue and pasted them on top.

The main image is a stamp called "Buste Juno" by DeStempelwinkel. I wanted her a little larger so after stamping her with brown ink, I then scanned her back in to re-size. It made her a little blurry though but it kinda looks ok.
Then I cut her out and stuck her onto the cover.

** Juno's own warlike aspect among the Romans is apparent in her attire. She often appeared sitting pictured with a peacock armed and wearing a goatskin cloak. The traditional depiction of this warlike aspect was assimilated from the Greek goddess Hera, whose goatskin was called the 'aegis'.

The smaller picture I found on My God Pictures.com and depicts Juno with a Peacock. It says that the Peacock had a complaint....

"The Peacock considered it wrong that he had not the Nightingale's song, so to Juno he went. She replied "Be content with thy having, and hold thy fool's tongue ".

Underneath it says 'Do not quarrel with Nature'.  How true !!! :-)

I also put the Symbol for Juno on there to bring through the peacock colour.
At some point I will get around to making some pages to go inside my book, but I'm not sure what will be on them yet :-D

Well - that's me for today I think. Thanks for popping in.

QUOTH THE RAVEN QUEST #50 - BUNCH OF POEsies - MIDWAY REMINDER

Hi Peeps,
Here I am with my creation this month for our latest Quest over at QUOTH THE RAVEN.Our challenge theme this month is #50 " A BUNCH OF POEsies ", so we want you to create a POE inspired piece which must include some FLOWERS.
You can make anything you like as long as it has this and is obviously connected in some way to EDGAR ALLAN POE, since that what our Blog is all about :-D

For my piece I have used a scrapbook template called ' Weathered Floral ' which was a freebie from CatDes, and I have used images from a freebie collage sheet to put inside the frames. This is a digitally created piece using PSE 9.

I have just realized that I didn't post my creation for the start of Quest #50, so here is that one too. :-)

This piece was made using up bits and pieces of lace from my snippets box and some black mesh - which is actually a snippet of Mosquito Screening :-D The flowers are made from black card and the image and background paper are by me and available at IKEsART. I stitched the image onto the background mount and sewed right through to hold the mesh in place.

If you would like to read the works of EDGAR ALLAN POE and this story, then click HERE.

You have until 2nd DECEMBER 2015 to play along with us at QUOTH THE RAVEN and we would love to see you there.

Thank you for dropping in.

FROM THE HEART - STAMP OF THE MONTH NOVEMBER

Hi Peeps,

Happy Monday :-)  Here I am popping in with my creation for FROM THE HEART STAMPS - Stamp of the Month Challenge NOVEMBER.

This little guy is called "Deck The Halls Bird" and I have coloured him up and put him into a shaped frame with a holly background.

I must admit that I started chuckling to myself at a rather rude-ish thought that came into my head about Christmas balls ....... snort !!!....... and then I also found that the latest Challenge at Sisterhood of Snark was all about making a creation inspired by a song, so I went on a search.......

I was doubly inspired when I found Elmo's  - " The Balls Song " ... sung to the tune of Jingle Bells.... bwaahahahaha :-D

Here is my creation...

This is the outside all pretty sensible and nice really......

and this is what I printed on the inside........tee hee hee ... snickering in typical schoolgirl-ish fashion.................................

Well - that's enough from me for now. I think this one is probably going to go to my big Bruv for Christmas ... snork !!!

SCRIBBLES DESIGNS CHALLENGE #35 - NON TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS COLOURS

Top Scribbler receives $10 worth of digital images, winner's choice
Top 3 receives $3 worth of digital images

Good morning,
Here I am with my DT piece for the latest Challenge over at SCRIBBLES DESIGNS and this time our theme is #35 NON - TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS COLOURS.

While Christmas is knows for its bright reds, brilliant greens and sparkling golds and silvers, there are many other wonderful colours that can represent Christmas just as beautifully.  This month we'd like to see a Christmas themed creation using non traditional colours.  It is time to bring out the blues, pinks, purples or other non-traditional colour palettes and give your Christmas project a different kind of hue.

For my piece I have made a background with a weave of  little snippets of black and white papers which were free from DOCRAFTS.
I coloured the images using Promarkers and then superimposed them onto the background papers, which I had faded out slightly to make it look like they were behind glass. I then used Glossy Accents on the jars and stuck them onto the original background with foamies.

We also have Bugaboo as a Sponsor this month.
Donating: 7 digital images, winners choice

This fortnight's challenge theme is
#250 Anything Goes with
GIVING THANKS

So anything you want to do with a link to the dead :) - sympathy, Remembrance Day, Día de los Muertos, dark etc.

For my creation I used "Ooops Bear" from DIGI BLESSINGS.

Oops

I coloured him with Promarkers and added him to a red card background and used two die cut frames set at angles. I stitched the main image to the background using some string to try and look like stitches. Then I made a bandaid plaster with my sentiment on it.

I hope you will come over to OSAAT to play along and to look at the lovely creations that my Teamies made to show you. :-D

GUEST DESIGNER SPOT

Good Morning Peeps,

I was honoured to be asked to do a GDT spot at CRAFTING BY DESIGNS and chose to do this Challenge with Snowmen. The Sponsor for this Challenge is THE STAMPING BOUTIQUE and I already had just the perfect images for this card.

snowman holding a sign for journaling                                   Gingerbreadman with Buttons Digital Stamp

I coloured them with Spectrum Noir pens. The Snowman was printed 4 times and then fussy cut and put together with silicone, to make him 3D.
The Gingerbread Men were cut out and stuck onto acetate strips that are sandwiched between the Snowman layers, so they kind of wiggle about a bit in the air :-D
His Merry Christmas is a piece of metallic confetti.
The background papers are Freebies from DOCRAFTS .

I hope you will pop over to CRAFTING BY DESIGNS to see the glorious collection of snowman cards there and to play along too :-D

Thanks for stopping by.  xxxx
