SMUDGEFEST DAY 2 - TAPE

Hi there,
Here I am with my creation for DAY 2 of SMUDGEFEST hosted by SMEARED INK over at SMEARED & SMUDGED.

Here are the rules:

*Each morning from August 3rd through 9th, a new challenge will be posted. It will contain that day's theme and prize information.

*To participate, you must make a project that fits the theme and add it to that day's post using Inlinkz. The link to add your entry will be located at the bottom of each post. Your project must be linked by midnight of the same day. Your link must go straight to the post on your blog containing your project, not your blog home page.

*Your project can be anything (card, scrapbook page, altered or 3-d item, etc) as long as it is handmade and stamped somewhere with either a rubber or digital stamp. All digital projects are allowed if it fits the theme. Feel free to think outside the box and have fun with your project! We are all about looking at things differently and look forward to the variety of projects we are sure to see.

*You must use AT LEAST 1 Smeared Ink image on your project to qualify for the daily prize drawing. You are allowed to use anything else that you like. If you just want to play along and aren't worried about qualifying for the prize, you do not have to include a Smeared Ink image.

*The daily winner will be chosen by random number and revealed later the next day in a separate post (not the daily theme post).

The Challenge:
TAPE TUESDAY
Whether it's washi, masking, duct, or scotch, we're challenging you to use some sort of tape in your project today!

Here is what I have made for today......... a Door Hanger...

I have used one of the Zombie head shots called "DROOL" and a rubber stamp sentiment "Artist At Play" which is from the Inky Dreams set.
I have coloured him up with Promarkers 4 times and then fussy cut sections of him to make him spookily 3D.
My background was a piece of corrugated cardboard and I randomly tore some of the facing off and then inked with Distress Inks in Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint. I used a strip of Dry Wall Tape as a stencil for part of it (down on the right-hand side_ and then stuck a long strip of it onto the card.
Then I added my 3D guy. I also used some Masking Tape (since I don't have any Washi) and stamped my Artist sentiment and another piece I wrote Keep Out with a red fine line marker. Attached some jolly green string and Voila !!!
I think he's scary enough to keep anybody away Hahahaha :-D

I IZ NOT A TURKEY !!!!!

Good morning Peeps and welcome to Day 1 of SMUDGEFEST 2015 hosted by SMEARED INK. For 7 days I will be (hopefully) making a project that fits in with the daily Theme and also contains a SMEARED INK image.

Here are the rules:

*Each morning from August 3rd through 9th, a new challenge will be posted. It will contain that day's theme and prize information.

*To participate, you must make a project that fits the theme and add it to that day's post using Inlinkz.

*The daily winner will be chosen by random number and revealed later the next day in a separate post (not the daily theme post).

The Challenge:
METAL MONDAY

Create a project that showcases a piece of metal! It can range from metal scrapbook embellishments, to paper clips, to items you would find at a hardware store. Decorate a metal object, or cut up a soda can. Use your imagination!

Here is my piece today using INKY DREAMS on the background and OCCASIONS GRUMPIES  rubber stamps for my main image.

My background is gold metallic card and the stamp was inked with embossing ink and then stamped and covered in rainbow effect embossing powder and heated up. I then covered it with 2 coats of extra thick UTEE and it now looks like a sheet of gold :-D
I added onto it a thin ribbon of Tin Foil and a strip of metal embellies, that I think was a broken bracelet or something. My Grumpie was stamped and coloured twice, using Spectrum Noir Pens,  and then fussy cut into layers and mounted up with 3D foamies. He was then coated with Diamond Glaze.
He sits on top of a real Peacock feather.
I made a sentiment panel and stuck peacock coloured sequins all around and attached it with a tiny metal Bulldog Clip.

Here is the Prize for today.......

I would really love to win that stunner :-D

So, there I am for DAY 1.

Thank you for dropping by. :-) xxxxxxxxxxxx

HAUNTED DESIGN HOUSE HDH159

Hello again,
Well, today is Macabre Monday over at HAUNTED DESIGN HOUSE, the Challenge is called 'Famous Last Words'.
Create a piece using a famous last line from a book, film, poem or use a deathbed utterance or confession.
I decided to use the purported last utterance of CHOPIN.

Frédéric François Chopin  1810 – 1849 was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist. He is widely considered one of the greatest Romantic composers. Chopin was born in Żelazowa Wola, a village in the Duchy of Warsaw. A renowned child-prodigy pianist and composer, he grew up in Warsaw and completed his music education there; he composed many of his mature works in Warsaw before leaving Poland in 1830 at age 20, shortly before the 1830 Uprising.
Following the Russian suppression of the Uprising, he settled in Paris as part of Poland's Great Emigration. During the remaining 19 years of his life, Chopin gave only some 30 public performances, preferring the more intimate atmosphere of the salon; he supported himself by selling his compositions and teaching piano. After some romantic dalliances with Polish women, including an abortive engagement, from 1837 to 1847 he carried on a relationship with the French writer Amantine Dupin, aka George Sand. For most of his life Chopin suffered from poor health; he died in Paris in 1849 at age 39.

FOR THE SQUEAMISH.................LOOK AWAY NOW !!!............................................

I used a piece of sheet music by Chopin and then stamped over it with one of my new 'Inky Dreams' rubber stamps from SMEARED INK. I used Versamark embossing stamp with red powder, and melted with my heat gun. I printed out and coloured 'Open Torso' - from the Gross Anatomy Set also by Smeared Ink, then I coloured him a little with pencils. I found a little portrait of Chopin on the Web and the quote, which I printed out in Dymo.
