A BIT OF SEWING

Me again,

I have been sorting through my stash and trying to use up some NBUS. I think I have enough stuff to open a small shop. I must admit to being a wee bit of a hoarder of my 'precious' things, so I figured it was about time I started to actually use it hahaha :-)

Here is a little card that I made with the latest Freebie from A DAY FOR DAISIES. It's called " All Tucked In " - such a sweet design.

I paper pieced the blanket and pillow and then I coloured the rest with Copics.

After I cut it out I did a simple blanket stitch around the outside. I used some pretty thread I got from a local Greek shop and you wouldn't believe how insanely difficult this stuff was to thread the needle and actually sew with !!!! I can't imagine what it could possibly be used for but I fell in love with it on sight :-)

I mounted it on some pink corrugated card and then used a teddy bear backing paper from my NBUS Joanna Sheen 'Baby' pad of papers that I have had forever !!  :-D

Thanks for dropping in.

SUNSHINY DAY :D

Hello Peeps and Happy Sunday,

I am now getting back to normal after having my lovely Daughter and her family here for a fortnight. It seems very quiet and a bit lonely now they have all gone back :-(
Surprisingly, I decided to work with my favourite colour today - Yellow - and so am having a bit of a sunshiny day :-D

My first one is using up my snippets of patterned vellum and daisy ribbon with a Freebie image from NEWTON's NOOK DESIGNS - who I only discovered this morning, and I have fallen in love with the Newton Stamp sets, so might just be treating myself pretty soon :-D I used the sketch given for this week's Challenge.

I printed out the image 4 times and coloured it with Spectrum Noir pens and then fussy cut the pieces to decoupage up with foamies. I added a blob of Diamond Glaze to the little Ladybird and then used a black pen to draw the flight line up to the text and past to the bug :-)

My second card features this week's Freebie from  A DAY FOR DAISIES, and I have coloured this one with Promarkers.
I cut it out with my new frame die - Pierced Stacker #4 - from Cheery Lynn Designs.

This card also uses snippets of papers from the plaid collection at DOODLE PANTRY and some oddments of paper for the lacy borders.
I cut out some leaves and made some lemon blossom to add in the corner.
I followed SKETCH #249 from Sketch Saturday for this piece, but I turned it sideways..

I definitely feel a bit jollier having been working with yellow this afternoon :-)
Thank you for dropping in.

MORE CARDS

YaY !! The weekend is here :-)
I made another Birthday card this morning ready to send off.
I used a brand new FREEBIE that I got this morning in the Newsletter from A DAY 4 DAISIES. It is really sweet and is called 'Buds In My Hair', and was just perfect for what I wanted for my card which is for a friend who is definitely a 'girly girl' :-D

I printed the image onto a sheet of newsprint and then printed her again on white card so that I could colour her hair. I used Promarkers for that. I mounted it on my watercolour background and then drew some thin black lines around that because it seemed to be a bit lacking in something.

This design was done following a Sketch from TUESDAY MORNING SKETCHES.
I used a snippet of dragonfly paper from a Little Sizzix pad mounted onto pink card for the side panel and made a sentiment flag. Added 3 flowers from my stach and there you go !! :-D
