MIXED MEDIA UNIVERSITY - MY 1st VIDEO TUTORIAL

Hello Peeps,
Well here I am introducing my 1st Video Tutorial as part of the new MMU Design Team over at the SMEARED & SMUDGED FORUM - MIXED MEDIA UNIVERSITY. 

 I must say I am extremely nervous..... it appears that the Vid loaded OK into the system and I am hoping it will play OK.  I am only using a tiny WebCam at the moment so the shot is very small but it seems to work fine. I shall be looking into investing into a video camera I think so I can get shots further away for other stuff I want to make - coz it won't fit in that tiny space I am using now !!! hahaha :-D

My first offering is CLASS 7  - FUSSING CUT LAYERING AND FEATHERING.
In this vid I cut and layer up a 10 layer Raven :-D

WOYWW #230

Hello Wednesday Peeps,
Here we are again with WOYWW #230... What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday. This event was started by the marvelous JULIA over at STAMPING GROUND and it's how we spend Wednesdays snooping round other people's work desks all over the world !! Cool Eh ?!!!
Well - I've been away for a few days on a neighbouring island to stay with a mate whose husband has gone to work in UK for a couple of months !! We had a great time, but obviously I legged it without clearing my desk !!!!

I've got a smattering of Halloweeny things on there and all sorts of other crud, so I must now tidy a bit before I start something else :-(  But first - I will get coffee and go on my weekly snoop round other people's desks.... see you later xxx

GUEST DESIGNER SPOT AT QUIRKY CRAFTS :-D

Good Morning Peeps,

I am here today with some creations I have made after being invited to be a GUEST DT over at QUIRKY CRAFTS.
This time the Theme is "MAKE US CHUCKLE"  and they are sponsored by CRACKERBOX PALACE .     I was lucky enough to be given a few digis to play with, so this is quite a picture heavy Post. The Links will show either rubber/cling stamps but the company are currently producing Digis too, although they are not yet shown on their site.

My first one uses " Ruby the Queen" and matching sentiment.
I coloured her with Copics and then printed her out and fussy cut 5 layers, so she is 3D. I have teamed her up with one of my digis called 'Trick or Treat'  who has a ticket which says "Don't forget to get your Pumpkins out ". I think she's a pretty suggestive minx, which is probably why the Queen is not amused :-D
The ticket has a little clay pumpkin that I got from Creepy Glowbug. She makes glorious little clay brains and skulls and stuff to and her Etsy Shop is HERE. :-) 
I used a pumpkin background and then made a cut out backer using a Martha Stewart Round the Edge punch set.

My 2nd one uses "Boo Bug" and a matching Senti.  I made some Silhouette cut outs for the front of the card and used a designer paper from  Storyrock at My Memories - 'Batty Backgrounds' FREEBIE and the Ghosts are from Edrian Thomidis. I found this image in my Halloween 2012 folder, and I think it may have been a freebie somewhere.

I coloured the ghost and printed it out in different sizes and attached them on the front here with acetate strips, so they look like they are floating. (Looks better in real life - honest, coz they wave about too) !! :-D

I used half the Senti on the front of the card and attached a little clay ghost - also from Creepy Glowbug.

The inside has more papers from the 'Batty Backings' set and another spider's web border cut in Silhouette machine. I cut out the answer part of the Senti and slit my little ghosts hands so's he can hold it up. The 'Boo Bug' was coloured digitally.

My 3rd effort is using "Guy Fairy Patrick"  and Sentiment "A Fairy Tale"

I made a Diorama using a background Bathroom scene from  DDESIGNS (Dreamplace Digital Art) I've had since 2011 and I can't seem to find any links now - sorry.

I coloured Patrick -  The Fairy Guy and printed him out 6 times to make a 3D figure. I stuck him together with silicone and sandwiched a strip of acetate in there to hang him from. He is attached to the back of the background scene and hangs over the top so he floats inside the room :-) He must be the sock fairy since he's picking them up - blokes think he actually exists I think !!!!! 

I made the toilet out of an egg cup and cardboard. The socks are cut from scraps of jersey cloth I had lying about. I screwed a couple up to look like how guys leave them when they just pull them off and lob them on the floor. !!!

The Sentiment I converted into a PNG and printed it onto an old book image.

Phew !!! Well - there you go.... I had great fun doing these and I want to thank QUIRKY CRAFTS  for inviting me to be a GDT today :-) and thanks to CRACKERBOX PALACE for the Digis :-).

I've been busy, busy, BUSY, today making some stuff for a surprise appearance tomorrow and I am also shooting off to Kos tomorrow evening for a couple  of days, so really whizzing them out at this end :-D !!!

Now I must admit I made a bit of a faux pas this time with my creation for HAUNTED DESIGN HOUSE.... with my rush trip to the UK I came back in a bit of a tizz and was hurrying to catch up with stuff and I made a creation for HDH but I got the title and sponsor completely wrong !!!!  Such is life eh ?!!
Anyhoo - I can use this for a Challenge or two, so it won't go to waste. :-)

GETTING IN THE SPIRIT OF HALLOWEEN

Well Hello Peeps,
I am sort of getting in the spirit of Halloween, but we don't DO that here in Greece until February - Carnival Week !!!
I got a great FREE digis from over at JAY's DARK PLACE  to play with this week. Jay has started a new Challenge and I'm pretty sure that this is Challenge #2 :-)
This week Jay is offering this cool Skellie.....

I coloured him up in PSE9 and used a new Digi Scrapbook kit I got from DEE's DELIGHTS and it's called "Halloween Mini Kit".

QUOTH THE RAVEN - MIDWAY REMINDER

Hey Peeps,
Just popping in to give you the 'Heads-Up' that we are half way through QUEST 25 POEticisms (or POEtic expressions) over at QUOTH THE RAVEN  so that gives you until 6th NOVEMBER to come over and play along.
I have made an extra piece using my digi and she's called "Plotting".... she looks a bit of a scheming girl doesn't she ???
I coloured her with Copics and used up some digital scraps from my Halloween box for the rest.

TRIBUTE TO H.R. GIGER

Hello Peeps,
Over at SMEARED & SMUDGED FORUM they have one of my favourite artists featured in the "OH !! - THE HORROR" CHALLENGE this month and I nearly missed seeing it !!!!
This Challenge can be found in the Group called 'THE CHALLENGER' where they have all sorts of cool Challenges going on, Junk Funk, Freaky Freebie, Sketches and others :-D

So - I drew a special digi this afternoon as my tribute to the great man and I have set it against a digital background to represent the film 'Alien' as Giger was commissioned to design the ALIEN used in the film. If you ever get a chance to visit Gruyere in Switzerland, you could visit the Giger Museum and also see the fantastic 'Bar'...... scary but sooooooo great :-D

FOUND SOMETHING NEW :-D

Hey Guys,
I have found a new Challenge site called JAY's DARK PLACE and there is a new Challenge there with a FREEBIE. It's a new Challenge opened by Jay Reid who also draws Digis and has an Etsy Shop HERE. There will be a new Challenge with a FREEBIE every Monday and the Winner gets a free image of their choice from Jay :-D This week's digi is "Cracked Doll Face"...

Well, I snagged me one of these puppies coz I was hit by a creative brainstorm and new exactly what I wanted to do... and it came out just perfect :-) !!!

I got some burlap recently from a dear friend (thank you Vee xxx) and cut out a flower shape by hand. The digi I coloured and printed 6 times and then paper sculpted the face into 3D layers and curved it with a ball tool to give the face some shape. I layered up with silicone and then dipped the whole thing in my Melting Pot. I used some old guitar strings for some zany extras and made myself a coooool brooch :-D !!! What do you think ?....

It would be just FAB for Halloween..... if they did it here in Greece... which we don't :-( !!! LoL

I added some sort of dribbled blood to mine but I am sure this would work well with some flowers of stuff to be pretty pretty 'poor dolly' sort of thing eh ?!!

Well here I am with some deets about Challenge #3 over at my IKE'sWORLD CHALLENGES Blog.
This time we are running an Anything Goes challenge, and I bought some bits back from UK for an extra prize :-)
Remember - you only qualify for the Prize and Top 3 if you use an IKEsART image. :-) 
I've also splashed out this time and gone for the Blue Froggy Linky that shows picture thumbnails........... that is waaaaaaay easier to see people's creations isn't it ? !!.
Anyway - I am playing along again this time too, so here is what I am showing ...

Now, I've added a little 'bra' to her coz last time I used this image there were complaints about nudity !!!!

I have popped in to tell you that I am thrilled to have been chosen as a member of the new MIXED MEDIA UNIVERSITY DT over at Smeared & Smudged :-)

DESIGN TEAM

We will be working with a variety of media, both typical paper crafting supplies and the not-so-typical. :-)

This Group will feature step-by-step Workshops that introduce fun ways to include different mediums into your rubber stamping work.

The Group is an interactive class group. We will be featuring bi-weekly themed classes which are intended to expand your technique and material knowledge so that you can take what you learn and incorporate it into your projects.

Some of the classes will be video and some picture Tuts. I shall be doing Video Tuts (if I can just clear a few last bugs out of my system) !!

I am very excited about this new venture and I hope you will come over to have a look. There are already some Tuts published there, and the new schedule starts later this month, so why not drop in and have a browse ?  :-D

CATCHING UP WITH SCHTUFF :-)

Hello Peeps,
I am gradually getting caught up and must crack on with my Blog comments :-D

I found a couple of things I have done with THE STAMPING CHEF that I hadn't Posted yet.They have a FaceBook Group and have been running Challenges where they kindly give you a Freebie and you have to use it to keep getting the new ones. Well, I got one this afternoon so it was a bit of a rush job to get her coloured up and created before Monday. But here she is... this Challenge was called "The Mane Event" because of her hair. I'm not usually very good at colouring hair, but I'm quite pleased with this one. 

And here's the one I did just before I went away - she's called "Desdemona"....

I missed one in between these 2 Challenges but it doesn't matter coz I didn't ask for the image... if you apply for an image you must use it or you won't be given one next time. That's how it all works there :-)

QUOTH THE RAVEN - QUEST 25

I am still playing catch-up here this end and am only just now posting my piece for Quest 25 over at QUOTH THE RAVEN. This time we are doing "POEticisms" and for those who are not sure what that is it means poetic expressions that we use in everyday language. There is a link I have added to QUOTH THE RAVEN where you can find some brilliant examples for inspiration.
First I must congratulate KEREN for her win at Quest 24 and our Top 3.... Crafty Inknik, Borqna and Laura.

I am still getting the Blog Candy ready as well coz we are now at 102 Followers :-D YaY !!!

Hello Everyone,
Well, here I am back from the UK. My Father's funeral went very well and the weather was kind to me. It was great seeing my Daughter and my wonderful Grand Babies :-D
I should have posted my creation for the PoP Challenge before I went but I can never trust the Scheduler to do it properly !!!! :-D
So - here is my piece for Challenge #7 over at the PATH OF POSITIVITY as I have now come onto the DT properly  instead of dingling about in the background:-D YaY !!!

My Sentiment says.... 'When the world says 'Give Up' ,  Hope whispers 'Give it one more try'.
Here's what Lisa says about how this Challenge works...

It is the first Monday in October and that means it is time for the next challenge to start. This time around, for Challenge #7 the theme is "Hope".  Show us your interpretation of what hope means to you.  You can make any sort of project and/or post as long as it is positive in nature and relates to the theme.  Now how cool is this.  It is our 7th challenge, and it is starting on the 7th AND there are currently 7 DT members on this team.  That must mean we are extra blessed this month and with the theme of HOPE to boot, I am sure that we are in for an awesome challenge.  I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Don't forget when you link up your project and/or post, to please leave a comment letting us know how your creation relates to the concept of hope if it isn't readily clear within the design itself or clearly written somewhere else in your post. Remember, the creation must be positive/inspirational/motivational AND adhere to the theme of hope in order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes.  While you may easily see how hope relates to your creation, it may not be as apparent to me or the DT members.  That is why we ask that you clarify it somewhere, whether here or in your blogpost.  This way it clears up any ambiguity that may exist. 

OUR 2ND CHALLENGE AT IKE'sWORLD CHALLENGES

 Happy Tuesday and our 2nd Challenge over at IKE'sWORLD CHALLENGES.
Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month we are going with 'AWARENESS' as our Theme this fortnight, and there is a FREEBIE there for you too. Please be respectful and use the Freebie to play along if you take it.
This is what you will get - it's my IKEsART digi image 'Awareness'. Obviously her ribbon can be coloured in the appropriate colour for whatever Illness/Disease that you wish to highlight.

Now it's all very exciting because this Challenge features my new Design Team, so I hope you will pop over and say hello and see all the gorgeous creations that the A TEAM have for you today. :-) The B TEAM will be publishing their creations on 8th October.

Our Challenges run for 2 WEEKS, so that will give you plenty of time to play :-D

I have created something this time and I hope you like this...

My digi image is simply coloured and all the other bits and bobs are from my stash.
